I've always felt that many of the names in the chroncicles are almost onomatoepeic; they sound like what they are. (the word cuckoo sounds like the noise a cuckoo bird makes). So Lord Foul is his name because he is, literally Foul. Saltheart Foamfollower is an exact name for the sea-loving giant. Ho...

I agree with Skyweir's point that SRD is showing how low humanity can get. There is plenty of vile "entertainment" already out there, so what is it going to be like in the future?

It would be a really useful and interesting addition to this site, although it would need to come with a spoiler warning. I doubt you would need permission as it wouldn't be a case of directly lifting copyrighted materials.

I enjoyed the way in which the second chronicles were a huge leap from the first, in terms of the time difference, the sunbane, etc, but still closely enough connected to the original Land. Now if only there can be as interesting a removal in the third chronicles!

I've always thought that it was because Vain was a created creature; entirely unnatural and made by a race who may have had their own, dark, purpose.
