During a time in The Forever War, all the people were queer including some main characters.

Gateway had a semi main character switch-hitting.

You know I'm not sure that any of those places really made me want to go there, they all were so grim it seems. I suppose I'll go with the Lab.

This is a great series - as good or better than The Chronicles. They only get better & better as you read all the way through the set. This is your first time reading the series? I'm suprised you haven't read them yet being so well versed in the Chronicles.

Re: Griffin?

Which book mentions a Griffin?I have loaned my books out to my sister in law,and why is the idea of their existance in The Land a one off thing? I'm with you there. I too have often thought that griffins just didn't seem to go with the style of the books. One could assume that since SRD picked the ...

Like Jay, I've always said TPTP. I think it does such a masterful job of taking away everything we love about the Land (Bloodguard, Hurtloam, the Sun), and then redeeming everything in the end. A real surprise twist for an ending, and a hell of a ride getting there. TWL is a close second. LFB is my...

The Forever War was a very satisfying book for me & I'd recommend this book to any sci-fi nut. I am now onto the Heechee Saga starting with Gateway by Fred Pohl.

OK, I just heard what would be really GREAT for music for the Gap, or at least a scene (something with Angus, like when he's looking at Davies and is rebooted) I love it. What do you think? I'll host this for a little while. Joe Satriani - Time Machine www.riffster.com/vtx/sounds/JS-TimeMachine-128-...

Re: new reader of gap series

.... the only problem so far is that i find myself liking angus no matter how hard i try not to and i amnt proud of the fact due to the guy being an utter rapist and murderer but i also like nick as he doesnt "yet" seem nearly as bad as angus although is still mean enough to be "cool...

Wow, that’s some question Martin. I have always considered the Amnion comparable to the Borg in regards to their collectivity. Maybe it's that only some of the special Amnion has the ability to communicate over long distances with the Hive, I don't know. I think that maybe the Amnioni genetic explan...

I have been trying to think why I liked the the Gap better than the Chronicles and I think its simply because the Gap is more realistic & believable. I may have just tapped my hidden appreciation for sci-fi.

Forbidden Planet. Truly a classic way ahead of it's time. It's a sci-fi though.

Dune or was it The Children of Dune mini-series was great.

That one flic with all the dragons blasting everything left on earth was pretty cool, can't remember the name though.
