BLACK SWAN

Finally saw this. I have got to see 3 of the 4 movies I really wanted to see (King’s Speech, Tron Legacy, and Black Swan – only True Grit to go…). I knew little of this but the basics. And I am glad I didn’t know more. It would have taken some of the ‘punch’ out of it. Some people may need to be for...

However, I'm a character guy. (That's why I love Donaldson.) I couldn't get past how crappy Pilgrim was to Knives (kind of how people react to Lena's rape, which is weird because Pilgrim didn't rape anyone). I was trying to be respectful while watching it with my son--it was his Christmas present a...

What?!
Awww man, I really liked him in everything he did. Even in throwaway roles, like big game hunter in the second Jurrasic Park, he makes the most of it.
Great actor.

I saw it twice in the theatre (not done since first Matrix) and seen again on Blu-ray.
Still love it.

Well, I, for one Tron-fan who saw the original in the theatre, was very disappointed in this one. Yah, the 3D effect were pretty neat, the imagry was pretty cool, the actors were good, but all else that matters to make a movie stand out and stand the test of time, was missing. This was such empty se...

LOL...and actually, Cpt. Beefheart was quite jealous af Zappa .. they had a bit of a rivalry going on in the early years --- mostly Beefheart actually. Zappa did a lot to bring him out in the open.

But I do enjoy his music.

Yes excellent review! I give it 8 out of 10. I have no problem separating a movie from a book. Ove the long years of my movie and book-reading experience, I have come to 'discipline' myself and go in to each as a separate entity. The movie does a good job at displaying everything in a manner that on...

Congratulations of the launch of AATE. I have a question about being a "rightful white gold wielder"... that is, why isn't Linden considered "rightful"? Convenant essentially gave her the ring "granted out of love and necessity" if I remember correctly from WGW (which ...

Well, I have been playing for about a month or so ... and I love it!!! The power-ups are really fun. It is really like Mario Kart, except with realistic cars in realistic settings. Very cool. My one quibble is that it gets really hard at later levels.. wow the AI is merciless! still fun, though... :)

"White Buffalo" ... my babysitter (a guy) let me watch it. Can't recall how od I was ... 8 or 9? It's 'harmless' for the most part, but that image of the white buffalo charging down the pine tree lined snowy corridor gave me nightmares for many nights thereafter. "The Changeling"...

Re: I hate Gangster movies

Millers Crossing. I will take it under advisement. May be years before I get back to thank you for it, kicking my own ass along the way, but yeah, never seen it and it there was a lot of buzz! I will second Miller's Crossing. It's an amazingly crafted movie that just happens to be cloaked as a 'gan...

I had a blast. It's a pretty mediocre plot, but the stars (ALL of them) make this a really cool ride.
Spoiler:
....the shot of Bruce Willis leaving a moving car to shoot up his pursuer is awesome!
Ooooohhhhh yahhhhhhh.

well, allow me to chime in a bit on this topic (since I am a Linden fan) :) Firstly, although I enjoyed AATE, I have to put it at #3 in the last Chrons. It has been mentioned before on other posts, but one of the things I found frustratinf with this one was the pacing... There were times (like the j...

What were they thinking???!!!

I have just read AATE for the first time, and as usual it was a hungry read (meaning that I tore in to it like a starved man, not taking in some of the wonderful nuances)... Which is why I always have to read his stuff a second time shortly thereafter. Anyhoo, I had a cuople of "What the heel w...
