Firstly, hello again. Next, the cover. I wasn't a fan of his work on the recent SRD series, but, must say that this cover work captures the first story well. I enjoyed both stories very much, but found as I was reading both that I had read them before. KINGS JUSTICE is similar to UNWORTHY OF AN ANGE...

Chicot the Jester
One of my favourite authors and books is Three Musketeers (and the four sequels). I also like 'Count of Monte Cristo'. In looking for other Dumas books to download to my Kobo, I stumbled upon his early 'account' of the Borgais. I was mildly disappointed as it is very dry, but it was a freee download...

I read this one on a strong recommendation from a couple of friends. Overall it's a good book, and I look forward to reading the next -- eventually. It did not grab me as it has others. I like the characters in general. Like the way the story is told: the two facets of the past and present. I like s...

ps. Can anyone explain how it is that the 'Best Director' need not make the 'Best Film'. I never qiute got that as it seems to me a logical step that the criterea for the judgement of a director has to be the quality of the film he makes. (Or could it be the one that the actors like best. ie Lets t...

LOL... yah, I agree. He was a great character. That whole section of him using a personal matter cannon (or something liek that) was insanely great. But I still couldn't get over the notion that he was only exciting because he was 'welded' and his preprogramming forced him to do the stuff that 'rede...

agreed. And one of my favourite books, if I recall correctly, is the last (This Day Alll Gods Must Die) ... great title too. Dark and Hung is really good, perhaps tied for my fave, but the last one really hit all the 'excitement' buttons for me too ... I love the switch to the sessions in the Space/...

I can't overstate how worthwhile the third book is--I read the first two and left it at that for YEARS, unsure if I even wanted to finish. But the third book--it's one of the best things I've ever read. Not only does it excel where Donaldson excels--insightful characters, high passion, deals and ba...

discussion from SRD GEN regarding possible spoiler on GI
MOD EDIT: possible The Last Dark spoilers. Read at your own risk I had just read this and was doing my "copy/paste" action when I saw your post. Shocked me too. I can only think that he, too, was being tongue-in-cheek, as he has plainly stated in the past that such questions are no longer...

THE KING'S SPEECH
Not sure how many people will want to see this (especially in the US), but this is really a wonderful 'small' movie. I can't say enough about this. Although the story is a little scued historically, it nevertheless grinds all the major points in to a truly moving story. And the actors! Geez, what a ...
