Thanks for that comment Stevie G. I actually didn't know the comment was humorous. I'm afraid I took it to heart. Still hoping others in the community will eventually be able to discuss the new book and series now that it's complete.

Rest assured I will not post again. I've always appreciated the Community of Kevin's Watch. There are few places to discuss SRD's work and through the years I have enjoyed immersing myself in thoughtful discussions, albeit usually silently. Others seemed so well versed in Donaldson's imaginings that...

The God's War Discussion

I've read and thoroughly enjoyed The Killing God. One of Steve's best. I was a bit surprised that the community (to my knowledge) isn't discussing the latest book or series at all now that it's complete on KW. If anyone would like to share feedback or insights please respond.

The Killing God Unabridged

I'm over the moon that SRD is able to publish The Killing God. Not sure how I'm going to wait until Nov 2022. I also understand that substantial cuts were necessary to make that publishing happen. 59,000 words according to Steve. An arduous task! The author seems pleased with the result. While I und...

Unpublished SRD

I noticed recently that Donaldson has at least one rather long unpublished short story in his archives at Kent State University. It's called Human On My Faithless Arm and is from 1988. Obviously, it didn't meet his standards for publication, but I'm still curious. Does anyone who has visited KSU kno...

Many thanks to Steve for putting in all those long, grueling hours of rewriting to make TKG acceptable. It couldn't have been easy. I'm relieved and excited that we will all get to read the concluding volume, even if it's not exactly the way the author intended.

Looks like we finally know the reasons for the delay. Crossing my fingers his agent and publisher gives a thumbs up after all of Steve's efforts. "People who would like to read "The Killing God," Book Three of "The Great God's War," have been waiting for a long time. Not me....

Well, at least we know Steve is still alive and kicking. I wonder is there was some fallout from his public disparaging of Berkeley back in December.

Reasons for Delay

In the absence of an update from the author I offer several conjectures for The Killing God radio silence. 1) The editor at Berkeley still has not made a decision in regard to publication. This seems unlikely since Steve indicated a quicker turnaround time. 2) Steve is undertaking an aggressive edit...

Amazon.uk now has a Oct. 13 2022 date listed for The Killing God; a year later than was indicated a few months back. This can't be good news. Perhaps Gollanz is getting cold feet.

Bravo Wayfriend! (although I'm a bit late to the party) What a beautiful and well-thought out explanation of the Haruchai way of thinking as told through the 10 books. As a librarian I approve of citing your sources. I wonder if Neil was aware of the Covenant books and what he would have thought of ...

Amazon.co.uk has a Oct. 14, 2021 publication date listed for The Killing God with Gollancz as the publisher. The page count listed is only 400, which seems a bit off from what SRD was telling us about the larger length of this novel. I'm still hopeful that SRD can find an American publisher, but I'm...

That's interesting. You're right, though, he did just refer to Berkely on the website. So his UK publisher is going ahead while the American publisher is refusing to publish. Still hoping Steve can work something out, but glad to hear (hopefully) that a book will still be available through Orion. By...
