I love forests.. i'm always going on about them. When i was 9 or so i lived for a few years on the edge of Epping Forest which is the remnant of some pretty ancient forest spattered around the edges here in London/Essex .. man, you cannot put a price on that for a kid. As an adult, i'm transported.....

I agree btw. There was something a bit offensive in the Ramen's pride and judgement given all the things you've said. They had a pretty insular view of what was worthwhile and worthy of respect.. and the Rhanyn made their own choices. But hey.. in the end Lithe came good didn't she.. shamed by the Q...

Lord Foul's Bane Chapters 20 & 21

Right. So TC's made his bargain with the rearing Rhanyn, and everyone is treating him with renewed respect and hope. These chapters contains what is probably one of the most profound discussions in the series for me. At least, it had a resounding impact on me first time around.. and is always one of...

Knowing what Bannor was going through from his own perspective made it proper edge of the seat stuff too didnt it. Here we saw the Haruchai's legendary hardiness being stretched to the limit.. and were wondering if even ol Bannor would make it through.. good stuff :D

man, can you imagine a movie made off of The Silmarillion? It'd be like time lapse CGI with hundreds of scenes like the opening of The Fellowship. Doubt it would ever happen, but it'd be cool. Would not want to be in charge of the first 20 minutes or so of the score, though. I wouldn't mind seeing ...

Well well, a topic close to my heart.. at least in its original phrasing :) A view then from a Brit.. myself, is that the Rt Hon Tony Blair spends far too much time sniffing Bush' crotch, and not enough bothering to explore much less represent the feeling at home. I can't possibly tell you how sick ...

Perfect Dutchess, i read them when i was 15. I think around that age is perfect with all its teenage/existentialist angst.. ur mature enough to understand the books and receptive to TC in a way that you wont be again given the particular vulnerabilities of that age.. i think :)
