Um, well Roynish, I guess I'll have to respectfully disagree with your opinion. I think AATE has some of the best writing SRD has ever done. AATE is definitely its own entity, can't really compare it to other books in the series. It's only natural to try to do so. There is a lot of talking in the bo...

Wards 4, 5, and 6 were never recovered. Its cool to think what they might have been and where they are still hidden. Although, after all this time I'm sure they'd be redundant. Wouldn't it be cool if SRD contrived a way for all or some of them to be used in TLD...? Nah, I know... that ship has sail...

It's not the Last Chronicles that I was hoping for, but it's still better than 99% of the fantasy out there. You said it. The worst SRD novel (which really, doesn't exist) is better than almost anything you find out there. I want, I CRAVE a fantasy novel/series that makes me think, makes me FEEL, a...

I love SRD's vocabulary, it does set the tone. But the word "theurgy" was used way too much in AATE. Almost every other page! I kind of cringed every time it came up. I should keep track how many times it comes up on my next re-read.  TC and LA were about the only characters t...

UPDATE: copies of AATE are now apparently appearing here in Canada, at least locally. Ordered mine through Chapters, should be here by end of the week if not sooner. It is still very odd that so many Canadian bookstores didn't get copies today or over the last few days, especially around Toronto. Bu...

No AATE shipments to Canada

Well, this is for any Canadians on the Watch: Amazon.ca didn't ship AATE as promised. Wondered why so I called around. One lady who helped me said Canada didn't get ANY shipments of AATE yet. Wonderful, I said. She said check back at the end of the week. So, any other Canadians run into this problem...

And I would suggest that one can still "love" an anti-hero. Covenant was an anti-hero and yet the majority of readers "love" him. SRD said he "loved" Linden. He didn't say that she had no faults. Love, in my mind, doesn't necessarily require the bond between two people...

I too believe this is the end for The Land and it's world, considering all the talk of the Worm of the World's End and all the horrible things happening in the Last Chronicles. Even things that SRD has hinted at in some of the interviews over the last few years pretty much hints at it. Not to mentio...

Re: Fatal Revenant makes THOOLAH Redunant!!

Linden's most serious crime is that she is dull. Couldn't agree less. What is wrong with you THOOLAH people? It's like you have no literary taste. You'd rather SRD write a character that has no faults, that does exactly what they're supposed to do? You don't want a character that had dimensions and...

I'm pretty sure you guys are spelling it wrong, anyway. I think it's easy as hell to pronounce when you spell it right. It's spelled right. Just looked it up in TOT: Elemesnedene . I guess it's kind of scary that I didn't look it up at all the first time I typed it. That word has always stuck in my...

Nice topic of discussion. 8) I agree with you on Drool's name, Blackhawk. Foul originally giving him that name is a cool notion; I can't even picture the crazy Cavewights having real names. Drool probably felt more important having any name at all, and having no idea what it means. Never had a probl...

Thanks for your words shadowbinding shoe, I couldn't agree more. I get reeeal tired of all this Linden bashing when TC was far from perfect. And yet, I don't hate him as much as THOOLAH hates LA. Maybe they should wait until the whole story is finished before they pass judgement? And while th...
