Those are great pictures! I especially love Kevin's Watch (you're right, Hearthcoal...imagine going down those steps! 8O) and Andelain (I think that picture captures the spirit of the place as much as any picture can!). Foul's Creche is cool too, with the red glow of Hotash Slay. I don't know about ...

I know Linden is a very important character, but she just seriously gets on my nerves. In the beginning I was irritated with her adjustment to the Land (I was irritated with Covenant's adjustment, too, so that's not specifically against Linden). As things progressed, I began to warm to her (very) sl...

My least favorite book of the Chronicles is definitely TWL. It was so painful seeing what had happened to the Land that I knew and loved! I couldn't take it...I even threw the book across the room at one point because I was so frustrated wondering how could this happen?? My favorite is TPTP, m...

I'm here, Sky...are you happy now? :p

This forum is so cool! Much better than the old one...the lack of ads is a blessing. And I love the header on the forums index page, with the white gold ring...and the little pic at the top of the page is pretty cool too. What is it supposed to be, anyway? The One Tree?

Anyway. I like it. :)

The "Stone and Sea" poem goes as follows:

Stone and Sea are deep in life,
two unalterable symbols of the world:
permanence at rest, and permanence in motion;
participants in the Power that remains.

I like "argent". And "mendacity". And the word he kept using to describe the vegetation that grew under the fertile sun...I can't remember what it was..."verdure" maybe? There are others, but I can't think of them at the moment. Reading SRD definitely improves your voca...

ITA, Bannor. People are always pointing out the similarities between SRD and Tolkien - but when you think about it, Tolkien's ideas weren't really original either. He "borrowed" ideas from old myths and things - just as SRD used some of the same ideas, but took them in a totally different ...

I just finished The Fall of Atlantis, by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Now I'm re-reading The Forest House, Lady of Avalon, and The Mists of Avalon, because while reading FoA I discovered that it is (sort of) a prequel to the others.

Did that make any sense at all? :?

But his summoner wasn't still alive, danlo...Triock and Foamfollower summoned him, and by that point they were both dead.

I can't stand math, and I'm not too fond of science either. English is my favorite subject. I'm a grammar buff - I'm always correcting my friends' grammar - and I love words too. Probably comes from reading so much. :D

I'll agree with you there, Lauralin...I spent most of LFB, and much of TIW, too, wanting to strangle, yell at, and/or slap Covenant. He really irritated me. But something happened between TIW and TPTP that made me lose the desire to scream at him. By the end of the series, I actually liked him...a l...

It looks like once you win this Doubting Thomas over he is absolute, as is a Covenant.
I never thought of it that way before...but I really like that. :D

..

I have to agree with Foamy re: Linden .. she was a character that grated on my nerves too and was at times as big a jerk as TC could be. But having said that it was good to see someone care for TC in the way he needed and even deserved to be cared for. TC was in definite need of some TLC .. I warme...

If you don't have the whole book memorized, you should. After all, you've only read it about 20 times... :D
