I was just about to post what I PMed your mom. But I'll post it now anyway. heh You, Foamy, are one of the founders of this glorious site! Your presence in the early times was very important to establishing the personality of the Watch. Whether they know it or not, you're part of the reason people ...

So I heard people were asking about me, and figured that meant it was time for one of my more-or-less-annual "Hello, I still exist" posts.

And thus: Hello! I still exist!

That's assuming that we believe everything Findail says. And he hasn't been know for 100% truthfulness. Didn't SRD say in the Gradual Interview somewhere that not everything the Elohim say about themselves is true? (Though granted, the particular statement the Foamy quotes is not about the Elohim t...

Foamy!! Hi, sweetie!!! :D :D :D Hello! So your saying Linden's resurrection of TC is a mistake? Was it a mistake? I don't know. I'm torn between "Linden, you idiot, what have you done?" and "Yay, we get Covenant back!" :P Seriously, though: it's possible that this may hav...

A Letter to Linden Avery (aka, I just finished FR)

Dear Linden, What on earth were you thinking?? Are you insane? You know, I was almost starting to warm to you when you were being betrayed by fake-Covenant. No one deserves that, not even you. But then you had to go and do something stupid again. No – this time it was beyond stupid. And what really ...

I personally think that sex and intimacy are two different things. Yes, they can easily go hand in hand but intimacy to me is knowing a person well and feeling comfortable with sharing thoughts/ideas/secrets/caring etc. Sex can be just sex. I also do not think there is ANYTHING wrong with abstinenc...

Re: Celibacy and asexuality

Exactly. I think that's what got me so het up about that Outsiders show. They were lumping the poor inoffensive asexuals in with White Power freaks -- people who have done documented harm both to individuals and society -- and quizzing "experts" about what could possibly have made them go...

I read the Riddlemaster trilogy this summer, at MsMary's suggestion. For most of the first book and part of the second, I was wondering what the fuss was all about - I even called my mom and asked why she recommended this book to me. :P But by the end, I was totally captivated. The books are definit...

I was rather disappointed by Runes. I agree with the people who've said that Runes just doesn't have the same emotional power that I've come to expect from TCTC. It was the first book in the series that I had trouble getting through not because it was so emotionally wrenching, but because I was just...

Re: I still exist!

What have you sung? I've been in a couple such groups myself. Madrigals are great stuff! Monteverdi is one of my favorite composers of all. We have a different theme every semester. Last spring the theme was "Music in the Cloisters," and the program consisted mainly of music composed by w...

Hmm...one of the members of the choir did put up little snippets of the rehearsals on her friend's web server, but I don't think I have the URL anymore. Maybe I can dig it up when I get back to school.

The best Christmas music I know of is the music we sang in my choir this semester (theme of the semester: A Medieval Christmas). It's from the tenth through fifteenth centuries, and it is weird and quirky and absolutely gorgeous. 8)
