There could never be enough words read to make me not want to come back. As a fantasy reader commencing in the 50's I look...

I always held an image of Amok as more like Hermes, or at least the manner in which Kingsley depicted him oh so may years ago. For any Aussies, I reckon the nearest I liken him to is Graham Kennedy in his early IMT days.

I recall from High school days (circa 1963)reading Shakespeare that the word puissant came up. ."..most puissant Caesar...". My trusty Shorter Oxford on Historical Principles has it as Power, strength, force, might, influence. One pronunciation is along lines of pwi-sans With all SRD words ...

1.The HarbourMaster (can't recall seeing a name for him) was a bit of a pain but provides the "we have rules" tragi/comic relief and

2. Rire Grist had possibilities of developing into a likeable character

I got nothing else here

we of the great south land give passing acceptance of English. Of course we speak with one voice; the ever evolving strine. Whilst those of our brethren sometimes cling lovingly to the various tongues of their forebears, there's nothing better than the sounds of a second or third generation European...

Or maybe slurk? ) Anyhow I guess my elevation to status of lurker is on account of so few posts over a year or three. Its that danged sudoku gam...

Having said that, FR was worth the wait (albeit us antipodeans had to wait just that bit looooonger than you goo...
