I suppose that is as good a metaphor as any...
But it also meets the condition of being present by its absence, in that it completes the palindromic alliteration TV:_T set up by PS:SP, while sticking to the bone/body part theme.

Or, of course, the US publication date if you have an account at the US iTunes store, as I now remember I do.

I have an iPad as well. I've read the iBooks versions of ROTE and FR in preparation for the release of AATE, and I greatly prefer the iBook version of AATE to the earlier works. Do you have any idea how soon it will be delivered to your iPad? I haven't ordered yet, but I assume it would be availabl...

Re: For those of us who can't wait

If you have iTunes, AATE is available for pre-order, along with a sample which includes all of the first chapter and first half of the second chapter, which I've just finished reading. That might hold me over til next Tuesday. ;) Thanks for this. I have an iPad, so at your instigation I downloaded ...

Re: Where is the Creator?

Now that we're halfway through the Last Chronicles, I am forced to wonder something, and I'm sorry if this is discussed elsewhere, but where has the Creator gone? ... I still can't wrap my brain around the absence of the Creator, or the old man in ochre robes, in this series. Linden agrees with you...

And, as I'm sure someone has already pointed out elsewhere, "The Theomach" is an interesting name given that theo = God and mach = make, create. But would Donaldson really be this transparent? (On the other hand, Anele = Elena backwards...)

Wow, a post from *the* Scott Brick! I can't count the number of audiobooks I've listened to you read. I'm not surprised to hear that you do extensive preparation for your narrations - the level of professionalism really shows. Does anyone know if naples.net/~dsaddison/srdamd/ is being updated with respect to the Last Chronicles? Re: My theory

Esmer (perhaps in council with the Elohim) knows all this, and therefore has decided that Covenant's role in the Land has to be undone in the ultimate sense: it has to have never been. This would certainly require time travel, but may also require stopping the summoning of Covenant by Drool and Fou...

My theory

This is close to my current thinking on the issues, Emotional Leper. For what it's worth, here's my theory, based on Chapter 2 of FR (and a poor memory of the earlier books). Linden is wrong when she thinks Covenant is the greatest hero the Land has ever had, that he saved the Land twice. We know th...

Just finished Runes -- my reactions, FWIW

I just finished reading Runes of the Earth today. I have deliberately avoided reading this forum, to avoid spoilers. So I have no idea what the general consensus is. My general reaction is one of disappointment. I had just finished reading the first six books before launching into Runes. The ...

Add "sojourn" to the list. As a verb, SRD seems to think that means "travel" rather than "stay" (e.g., "Yet my sojourn through the seas to accompany you was slow and sorely painful to one who has been sent from his home in Elemesnedene."; or "While this s...

Re: why it was cut out

The events that transpired would still have occurred within the reality of the story; they just aren't related as written in Gildenfire. As I said a few posts above, this isn't quite right. Gilden-Fire is all about Korik's mission encountering wolves and urviles in Grimmerdhore on their way ...
