yeah it is the official doctrine. In books 1-3 we have several mentions of it but are unsure whether it is jsut a philosiphy or official doctrine. However in book 4 a septon relates how it *is* the official doctrine, but that it is accepted policy not to try and explain it to the average person, as ...

actualy the worship of the seven is NOT polytheistic. The seven are all aspacts of one god... its only the common people who have trouble grasping this. the septons and learned people all view the religion as being monotheistic in nature

i would rec you al lread the authors note in the back of the book. it *should* be in the front. imo most dissapointment can be avoided vby reading that note first

which sighning is that? you might want to hook up with the bwb if its one of the bigger ones. they are always fun to hang out with.. and prob woudl gaurentee that you would get to go out with george after the sighning was done.

theres a number of theories and it can certainyl refer to many things. imo most likely it is cause the two main themes of the series focus on ice (others) and fire (dany, dragons, and who rules westeros)
