"Of all the commandments, which is the most important?" "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength...

I give up. If you reject God because One church says you can't be saved unless you repent and stop sinning then you're limiting God by one group's viewpoint of God. If you bother to read the news, listen to the radio, or watch the television then you know that there is a lot of give & take going...

Pretend he didn't say "gay" and respond with your thoughts on the subject. Is that too much to ask? Well said. Yeah, let's just overlook stuff. That's useful. In so doing, VS opened himself to the possibility of much harsher attacks than you gave him, and for a reason that was relatively ...

Maybe I'm gay. Would that surprise you? The point is that it DOES NOT MATTER & should not be the thing that is stated as WHO I AM because it cannot begin to encompass who I am as a person and I want you all to know who I am as a person. If I'm gay or if I am not gay has nothing to do with how I ...

My faith is so strong that you could show me a video of the big bang & I would still disbelieve it. Let's just say that because of mirrors & stars & the curvature of the universe that you could bounce around light so much that for some reason it showed the initial boom. There's nothing a...

And that Furls, is why I wanted you to post in this thread. ;) It reminds me that christianity doesn't have to be the way I usually see it, and it's a good reminder to have. (Hope you keep doing better and better. :) ) Salothsar: Am I missing something here? ONE: 'You shall have no other gods befor...

And can you not, by your good intentions, and positive actions, that affect others to act the same, or at the least be affected by it, make this world where those types of people are MORE rare, and those who seek good with unselfish and pure intentions LESS rare? Is this not enough for you, and God...

Maybe you guys are right. I would however like to hear from Variol Son. He's a big boy & he can talk for himself. If nothing else, I'd just like to get to know people like Prebe & Variol Son without the education of knowledge that they are gay. I find that fact meaningless. It's like saying,...

In addition, I'm not really sure what it is that I might possibly need help with from you (you're post is a little unclear), but if it is help "curing" my homosexuality, then let me politely advise you that your assistance is not required. :D No is it given for that purpose. I think we mi...

Hehe, thanks for defending me Syl, but I'm ok. :D SalotHSaR, I think you misunderstood me a little, but that gets dealt with in my big post further up. I would like to add that I am finding this conversation enjoyable and enlightening. Thank you. As for the connection between homosexuality and HIV/...

Now maybe I'm the only one who sees your post as a little insulting, and I can even accept that you're trying to help. I can only say I find your method about as a cold as the west wind. Hmmm.. That's funny. I thought I was assertive & straightforward, expressing compassion & love are more ...

ur-bane, are you confusing forgiveness and justice? They are two separate things. What? Where'd that come from? I am speaking of forgiveness as it relates to a demand for perfection. SalotH stated that God demands perfection from us. I am countering that quite clearly. How can one who needs forgive...

No one's asking you to, including God. But if you don't then you burn in hell forever. And even if you do, you might still end up in torment. If you are a "sodomite" for example. I am no longer a christian for a number of reasons, and among them is the fact that since, as a homosexual, I'...

Or at least, one that does not offer perfection shouldn't demand it. Sorry Salothsar, I'm not sure how to relate those examples to to the question. God does require perfection. That's why it is impossible to make it into heaven. Everyone fails the first two commandments constantly, consistently. Wo...

Wild. You never know where these threads will go. God does require perfection. That's why it is impossible to make it into heaven. Everyone fails the first two commandments constantly, consistently. The Bible says that everyone falls short of the Glory of God. The Bible teaches us that no one is wor...

It's partly sarcasm. I'm not saying I believe the Katrina part at least. But we all like to remember our presidents well. A lot of people who actually lived during the Kennedy administration say that he was a buffoon. A lot of people that actually lived during the Nixon presidency say he was a great...

Are you saying that capitalism is better than communism? Do you dare to presume that simply because one culture has the drive to develop technology and goods that the rest of the world desires that we shouldn't reward those countries that are doing little to take control of their own futures? Someon...

Nice try SalotH. ;) Firstly, it was Cail's admittedly bad analogy. And secondly, it may be bad, but yours are worse. ;) And I personally think Cail's analogy illustrates quite clearly the idea he has presented about who is saved. But that's just me. I have a lot of respect for Cail's intelligence.

The only analogy I can think of (and it's a bad one) is that it's like the library. I'd say it's more like choosing between two library cards, one made of plastic and one made of a loved one's severed head. WTF? 8O My analogy would be like a cat and a dog. Some cats are picky eaters; there's a time...
