Heh. The funny thing is, it kinda is. In a way, it's the most simple fact about existence there is. It's been staring us in the face the whole time, but we've just been working backwards to it.

So the only critical thought I've received back basically amounted to, "Where's the Fine Structure Constant, crackpot?" Well, if that's what it takes: https://scontent-atl3-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/434643144_10161772711239343_2664003375406023140_n.jpg?_nc_cat=104&ccb=1-7&_nc_si...

So the next line is the relationship of all the stuff. The universe's mass on the scale of the observer is the same relationship as the observer's mass to the scale of its parts (atoms), with that being the same relationship as the universe's mass to infinite mass. Now normally you plug an infinity ...

It's not as hard as it looks, Fist. *I* wrote it. I can barely do a bit of a calculus. But if I can explain: The first equation is the really weird part. T = M / S doesn't make sense to us at first, to anyone. Ok, but move the math around, put space and time next to each other. Mass = spacetime. Spa...

If anyone's curious, the pi / t part was the last part I put together. I knew pi fit in there somewhere, knew it was somehow crucial to everything. Once I thought of graphing the curve of the relationship, expressing it as a slope, it just fell out immediately.

So yeah, all the rules and values of the universe derived from only the observer and the relation through time to infinity. Just about the simplest possible extraction of reality in the terms of mathematics. And damn if I don't know the math is right.

Sorry, I just pasted the docx file to the page and hit submit. And it should be free for anyone with KU, so if people wanted to give me some free page reads... I guess I need to expand it out? I thought each sentence clearly followed the next. I know it's weird, but it should also make sense. The un...

IS Math Real?
Something I've been thinking a lot about lately but only barely touch on in the paper I published is that everything is as real as it needs to be in that framework. 'Is math real' is a weird question if we haven't established what 'real' means, as we know we only live in an approximation of 'reality...

So yeah, the last few years have been weird. I ended up doing a huge dive into astronomy and physics. Trying to work things out for myself, I think I discovered something. I'd try to be humble about it, but the closest I can get is saying it probably sounds insane. Here's the book , The Infinity of ...

Got my attention. I'm really surprised I didn't comment on this thread. I am/was a huge Farscape fan, and this was right when I joined KW

Series That Never End
It's been a long time so I can't remember very well, but it seemed to me like it went from something to say with cool world building to 'now this thing happened and we have to deal with it.'

Uh, yeah, Goodkind (RIP, I guess) starts off as fairly enjoyable derivative stuff if you don't read it too closely. But every book gets worse and worse by going deeper into the problems with his writing, going in exactly the opposite direction you want him to go as a writer. But you get invested, so...

I gotta say, the new KW is running quite smoothly. Props to all involved. Ah yes, the Blue Hack Team. Good times. I remember fondly baiting the hacker/s that they were 'Kurd lovers.' The Terry Brooks Hack Team was also exceptionally well done. Also, Av's Discordian-themed April Fools was also pretty...

As I've said for years (hell, decades) here at KW, my problem with the death penalty is not that the punishment doesn't fit the crime, but that the rights of a just government derive from the people that create that society. If people do not have a right to kill other people just because they think ...
That was a crazy movie. I loved it so much (but I'm a huge fan of Kevin Smith prior to his weight loss and stonerhood, so...). My ex-girlfriend owned two restaurants, and that was completely in the back of my head as I watched the movie. I wish it would've had a little more nuance and punch, but ove...
