Maybe I'm stating the obvious, maybe I'm reading things into the text, but doesn't Covenant's soul journey in the Land correspond to the five stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance)?

When one thinks of it, it is quite amazing how little time 'we' actually spend in the Land in its full glory and beauty over the ten massive volumes, and how little Covenant spends in it being conscious or without being riddles with some problem, having saddle sickness, being envenomed (if there is ...

i must agree with DrPaul, the biggest alteration for me over the years was my attitude towards Covenant. No, not because of the rape - I belong to that (small?) group who don't consider it a show-stopper, but because of the constant 'How could he?' and indeed 'How could he NOT?' questions whirling a...

My old-school thinking is that a short story is scant material for a feature film...but if Peter Jackson can manage to turn The Hobbit into *three* extended features, perhaps some among SRD's short stories can be turned into features. I think a short story can be more than enough... you don't neces...

I see another 'issue' that has been addressed. In the beginning TC's main issue, original sin, was his unbelief, the insistence on the Land being a dream and therefore having no consequence; and he spent two Chronicles to find the eye of the paradox and realize that it doesn't matter , he can still ...

There is also the thing that it was Linden who resurrected Covenant, and she rebuilt him using the memories of him in her soul. She mentions to someone in TLD that she was capable of this only because how deeply TC had been imprinted on her being; and although this included warts and all, leprosy in...

I have been absent from this forum for a long time - simply because when TLD arrived in the post on the day of its UK release I realized I needed to read the whole last chronicles from start to be able to appreciate TLD to its full potential. BTW it's great to see you guys still around, after so man...

Ah, a Pink Floyd thread - the best excuse ever to frequent KW again:) I won't take any sides in the Which One's Pink debate here, I am one of those unfortunates who admire each every note these people have ever produced, from Arnold Layne to High Hopes, band or solo, Syd or no Syd. They just... reso...
