Well Done

Jenn, that was solid. I remember being struck by how freaking horrible the Durlseys were - even a year later, a year away, a year to reflect - they're still just unconscionably mean.

I hope to be contributing in the next chapter or 5 - minding the rules, of course.

Ready, Willing

..and sort of able. Every time I try to log in, the site asks for a new password, but I'm stil checking in. The daughter and I are still plugging away at COS so I am still willing to take a shot at a chapter or two. After all, only 7 months until Movie6...

I can't get the daughter to start COS yet. Even though she knew what was coming, the movie scared her a bit. I probably should have expected it- she's still 7. Curse that creepy Voldemort/Quirrell dude. Starting Runes again on my own until she comes back on board. I'm ballparking late next week. Hel...

The lesson

...as always, is that I am an idiot. *

*Bill Simmons, on espn.com, uses this line, or something like it, frequently. I tend to apply it to my own life, just as frequently.

[spoiler]I must be missing the post, but where does everyone stand on the recent announcement to split DH into two films? I say, why not? I'm watching them both anyway, the studios will make their money, and we can hope that they will do the book justice - justice they demonstrated they couldn't do ...

Late vote, since I can't figure out how to post it right - unsticky it, and index. I am biased, of course, because I'm about to look for a Year 7 movie post...

I thought that I'd chip in (finally) to say that I enjoyed everyone's dissections and that I look forward to Year 2 - break or otherwise. I have been watching/reading without contribution for some time. I recently finished Year 7 with my (now) 12 year-old son and just finished Year 1 with my (about ...

Now that I look at it again, maybe "your" is better than "my." Matches the last stanza better.

Your flesh is mine
You shall not escape from your damnation
Cannot flee from your damnation
You are mine

Whaddya think?

I was just breezing through the site and its forums, as I am wont to do, and had forgotten how great that poem was. Maybe my favorite in the series. Nerdanel, your idea is excellent, and your post-post thoughts got me thinking about it. How about this? Your flesh is mine You shall not escape from my...

9 years? We 20-year folk wish we were so lucky. We're just hoping SRD finishes TLCTC before we hit Andelain.

Thanks for the welcome, Danlo. I enjoy many of your postings. I might have to get that Attorney at Staff of Law line posted on my desk somewhere.

For the record, I have a white gold wedding band as well. My wife has no clue why I like it so much.

First Timer

Watching this site for awhile, and wondering why, but when I saw all the others who started up in the mid '80's, I decided to sign up. A friend in high school, freshman year (Fall 1985), suggested I read LFB for an oral book report. I trusted him, and I did so. I wish I had appreciated it appropriat...
