I have read that the Movie has been on and off again . In SRD's Gradual Interview, he says he has been paid for the film rights, but doubts it will be made. Has this changed? Is the movie now on again? I agree with Nerdanel; I'd love to see the movie made as it should be, to try to capture the origi...

I remember that Sunder and Holian talked about this last stowndown as they were relating their lack of success to Linden and TC. It was when the search finally came back to the Land (WGW), and after the fight with the Arguleh where the unfettered was killed. Sunder related that the last village they...

Have you ever seen a book by A.A. Attanasio called Radix ? I read radix in the eighties, then found it again a few years ago. I loved it -- the images and characterization, expecially of the young protagonist as "Rat" and then how he grows and changes throughout the book. I think more cha...

Bannor eyed the ur-lord bitterly, and turned away, reaching down low to retrieve a small worrisome stone from his slipper. "Don't trust me, question me all you want, lock me in this damnable tower until I rot, I don't care"! Covenant raged, white fire enveloping his raised fist. "But ...

Have any of you read the Assassin series by Robin Hobb? SHe is magnificent! Its a triology about a boy (fitz) who is the bastard son of a prince of thre FarSeer clan. Her story, charactererization and suspense are just incredible. She went on to write two more trilogies based on the same world, Live...

My view is that he is like the teacher who has never been out of the classroom; all theory and no practical experience. By brute force, I didn't mean charging and hacking; I meant that he just keeps pushing on no matter what the cost to himself or anyone else. But, I agree that, either way, he could...

I think that the chronicles do not give us the everyday picture of the peoples of the Land. Every time Covenant or Linden showed up, things were way bad, and all of the focus was on the catastrophe at hand; We never truly got to see normal behavior, like criminals or parties or anything like that.

I like to bash Troy almost out of habit. I should think about reconsidering my view of him, but he's such an easy target. You know, Hile is really one of my favorites, strategic incompetence aside. I am not sure why... I remember thinking the first time I read TC that he was a good strategist, but ...

How old is old enough for TC?

I have a son, 10, is is an avid reader. I can't wait to introduce him to TC, but how old should he be? I read it at 18 for the first time. Particularly, the rape scene with Lena worries me, but also, TC isn't exactly Harry Potter, now is it? I submit the question and comments: How old should one be ...

I have talked about TC to several friends, but none have taken it up. Reading TC (Which is my favorite series) is not an easy task. It takes a lot emotionally to get through it, especially TWL and TOT. Anyone looking for light reading is not going to like TC at all. But I still find myself wanting t...

My friend just finished LFB and has started TIW....she asked me how long Covenant was in the Land during LFB, and I really didn't know. Seems like he was unconscious in the real world for only a few hours. Does anyone have any ideas? In runes, there is a passage where Linden says that an hour in RL...

I think Hile is only bound from Mhoram's view of what should be , rather than what is . Mhoram at that time probably felt strongly about the Oath, and that all should be bound. He probably couldn't even conceive of Hile's view. The Oath was always a choice for the people of the Land, not like the Ha...

You know, TCTC is the series I wish I could forget entirely, so I could read it for the first time all over again. I was only 18 when I read them the first time, and I was a different person then. I have read them 6 times, and still pick up sifferent things, different viewpoints each time. Is this b...

To get it started, my ideas for the rules. Feel free to jump in , dissect, suggest, and discuss: 1. Min length: 2500 words. We need enough story to digest. 2. Deadline for entries: September 1, 2006. Is this enoguht time, Nerdanel? 3. Topics: Any topic that fits into the known history of the Land, b...
