[If I feel a need to quote such people in a debate, I've already lost my credibility. I disagree with that. Like Richard Bach, (or maybe Snoopy?), I'll quote the truth no matter who said it. I'll quote Hitler or Pol Pot if I thought they made a good point. *shrug* Okay, there may be isolated times ...

Tell you what Prebe, come up with a way of getting guns away from criminals , and then we can talk about getting them away from the law-abiding. :D Couldn't have said that better myself. It's a terrible thing, those 22-1 odds, but it's still not the point. You're only responsible for your own actio...

No, what happens more often than not (22 to 1) with law-abiding citizens is that they accidentally shoot themselves or others. www.ichv.org/Statistics.htm While handguns account for only one-third of all firearms owned in the United States, they account for more than two-thirds of all firearm-relat...

I can't vote for either of the two I like more. If I vote military, then the nation is defended from outside harm and my family and I are safe. But we're living in a totalitarian dictatorship or something. We do what we're told and don't need to know why, and our grandchildren don't realize there's ...

^ Well, I can tell you that online gambling was my personal downfall up until almost three years ago. "Clean and sober" since 11/04/03. However, it's none of Congress' damned business, IMO. If people want to destroy their lives, by smoking, by compulsive gambling, by over-drinking, overeat...

I don't understand this epidemic of conservatives who attempt to distance themselves from Bush, calling him inept and what have you, and then sneak in "Oh yeah, but I still voted for him." Lord Mhoram, I can see why that seems a little weird. So while I can't necessarily speak for other c...

As much as I think Michael Moore is a hack, I have to admit I thought he made a pretty good point in "Bowling for Columbine". He indicated that Canadians own just as many guns as we do - they just don't have the same mindset about USING them that we do. We'll go get a gun and plug someone...

Not signed. The companies have a right to censor whatever they wish on the service that they are providing. If you don't like it, then use a different service provider. If the service providers start censoring stuff then their customers will find one that doesn't. Simple. Legislation is NOT the ans...

I'm pretty liberal, and I'm all for legal guns. As always when this issue arises StoneMaybe, my response is that as long as one criminal may have a gun, then every law-abiding citizen should be allowed to have one too. For what it's worth, I agree with Syl about it being too easy for people to get ...

IHowever, I am all for only responsible people having guns, not just anyone who wants one. You have to prove you know the basics of driving to be able to get a driver's license - you should have to do the same to have a gun. And no criminals or mentally unstable people should be able to have one. T...

In my opinion having a law that that gives everyone the right to own firearms is absolutely ridiculously dangerous and foolhardy. Law and order breaks down a little bit - as it did in New Orleans more than a bit - and not only do you get looters and people out to get everything they can for themsel...

Gun owner, and quite proud of it.

 To my eternal frustration, you'll find that "you" is used generically so often here that it frequently causes a misunderstanding. I very much doubt that Alynna was using it in the specific, but rather meant that everybody should do the research and come to their own conclusions. LOL...
