Bill Coty

This has bothered me every time I have read ROTE. When Linden calls Bill Coty and warns him about Roger Covenant he asks her if she thinks Roger is violent and should he bring a gun. Linden responds by telling him guns might be an overreaction. After talking to Bill Coty she calls first Megan then S...

I like Thomas Covenant a lot. I feel Linden needs work in the feminine department. IMHO she looks a bit manly in the face. 0_0

Here is a quote that might come in to play from Thomas. "There is only one way to hurt someone who has lost everything -- give him back something broken." I think this fits with both Roger and Joan.

I really like that last one great job. I have just reread the first and second chronicles and now reading Runes. I really like the character of Linden and her love for the land.

What should have HT done? I say jump off the nearest cliff IMHO. The first thing HT failed to do was find out what Foul was up to. He waited to long to get this information and should have had other plans to fall back on. Once he found out there was no time to reach Doom's Retreat without a death ma...

Thanks for all the replies. I really don't have anything to add for I'm not very good at putting my thoughts in to text. I will say that the first time I read the books I felt sorry for TC. This time I feel sorry for everyone else that has to put up with him. I'm still waiting for him to show regret...

Lord Foul's Bane question about Atiaran

This is on page 178 of my book when Covenant could clearly see the moral struggle that wasted her, the triple conflict between her abhorrence of him, her fear for the land, and her dismay for her own weakness. The sight shamed his heart and he said to her Don't give up. Her reply: Give up! If I gave...

I started reading the books again like many here while waiting on the next book in the third trilogy. It's been about 15 years since I last read the books. I'm finding I like Covenant a lot less and I'm less forgiving of the rape this time. I'm only half way through LFB so let's see how it plays out.

Hello.... I have to say MT was the least favorite of the books so far. I'm on BH right now and I'm glad it will get back to the Malazan story. Every book in the series I read twice before I move on. I find I miss way to much on my first read. I have found on my second read I have enjoyed the book ev...

I'm having a hard time getting through this book :(

I'm up to page 140 or so and I'm really having issues with time travel and swear words. Does anyone else have these issues with the really bad language and time travel?

I have put down the book for now and will pick it up at another time. It's not like book three is right around the corner.

After reading the chapter I couldn't help but feel this isn't TC. It just didn't feel right. The character that is suppose to be TC comes off wrong to me. It sure didn't make me feel like the old TC like others here posted. TC also comes off different then the one Linden's has been talking to in ROT...

Welcome back, EP. I agree with you except for the leader part. Linden runs a hospital in real life, and in the Land she does an admirable job. Yes, she struggles to make choices, but she struggles to make the right ones, and that's a good thing in a leader. It took Covenant three books to learn how...

Im not good with words (Why I don't post much) so please excuse me. I'm on my 3rd read of Runes and one thing I notice about Linden is she seems to lack focus and or concentration through most of the book. The first reason I believe is her son. The second reason is her love for TC. The third reason ...

I'm not sure if this has been said but one thing that might be a problem for some is TC is missing for the most part. The way I feel about ROTE is that SRD does a good job with Linden and her cast and I did get sucked back in to the land I love with this book. I do feel without TC the books would no...
