No one should be forced to repeat or say a memorized prayer in public schools. There has always been prayer in schools, it should just be privately prayed to not step on the rights of others. I pray daily for my school, but I don't inflict it upon the students. I've had students ask me to pray for ...

I have a thing for rings. I bought a copy of Elrond's ring, but it doesn't work for me. Maybe, if I had Green Lantern's ring, I could get something done.

I have to agree with the Duchess--soft jazz. Our favorites include Ramsey Lewis and Mancini. (but then, we're old folks.) Image

I'm getting back to this rather late, but it is true that Paul McCartney didn't like Phil Spector's production of Let it Be , but no one else was even willing to produce that tangled up mess, and Spector did a super job in many professionals' opinions. George liked Spector well enough to get him to...

Too lazy to write down the complete lyrics, but Skylark's Wildflower is a tragic but moving story of an abused girl. It was written by a policeman who felt so sorry for the girl. Let her cry for she's a lady. Let her dream for she's a child. Let the rain fall down upon her head. She's a free and ge...

Abbey Road by the Beatles; Live in Concert with the Edmonton Symphony by Procol Harum; and Something, Anything by Todd Rundgren.

I agonized over this for an hour. I would loved to have put a Top Ten.

I bought a Doobie Brothers greatest hits CD yesterday. Very nostalgic, but it did not have my favorite Doobies hits, I Cheat the Hangman and South City Midnight Lady. Still great stuff. Image

On EBAY, I am bushhog2, and I have over 700 positive feedbacks, so mostly, it's been positive. I have had 4 really bad experiences, the worst of which is a lady who was going by "legalsmarts". After so many complaints (she sent me a broken record wrapped only in a sheet of paper. I had it...

When I was in 5th grade in a houston, TX school, we had a new girl enrolled in our class. When we went to recess, we let her play on our kickball team. She said that she had played before. We had a huge playgournd in those days, and when she kicked the ball, she took off for first base, and like th...

You make a lot of sense, Infelice. Never heard it put like that, but I believe you're correct: I am satisfied with my literary experiences, and I'm not looking for newer experiences. It's also a matter of time. I have so little of it that I don't want to waste any time getting "into" a bo...

My feeling exactly, Infelice! Nice to meet others that feel the same way. I've been told that I'm stagnating, but actually at age 51, I don't feel the need to read a whole lot of new books. In my 20's and 30's I read a lot of authors. It may be an age thing, don't know. Any ideas? :?:

there's absolutely nothing wrong with rereading books, TF. I've always felt that books that we've read become our good friends, and who wants to visit good friends just once? The more we visit them, the more learn about them.

I've found that if I get up at 4 a.m., I can watch Gunsmoke before going to school to battle 4th graders! And I still have a little time to get on the computer (to check on The Land and Rohan). It's not for everyone, but it works for me (sometimes). Image

We rarely go anywhere. I have found that in the past, when we'd vacation, we'd come back tired and broke with nothing to show for it. Sooooo, we buy movies, music, and we bar-b-que a lot. At the end of the summer, we have a lot of movies and music to show for our summer months, and we've had a lot ...
