I always envisioned the Ritual as something not unlike a nuclear explosion (minus the radiation) -- just a complete unleashing of the most destructive capabilities of nature in a single violent instant. But that's just me. :) I always thought of it as the transition you'd see between a fertile sun ...

The Elohim as a people are fickle; some of them rise above that and display knowledge that is more far-sighted (e.g. the Guardian of the One Tree). Perhaps the Man in the Ochre Robe is one of the wiser ones. Are you saying the Gaurdian of TOT was Elohim ? I thought the first gaurdian was an Inseque...

Re: Linden and Ceer
Brinn states that he wants to punish Linden by forcing her to state the Sandgorgon's name, effectively wishing her dead. I found that to be one of the most darkly amusing parts of the entire chronicles, I actually laughed out loud, the extremity of the Haruchai at it's finest .. What shocked me far...

First of all, I'm FF, not MM. And yes, I criticize her. The things I mention are annoying, and I want to smack her for them. But if she was a character in a Covenant book, that's all it would be. That's the way it was in the 2nd Chrons. I wanted to smack her. Really not a big deal. She wa...

Re: Shackles
Sorry if this has been posted before, but who do you think they're REALLY for? I think RC stated at one point that they were for him, but at the time we thought he was TC. I think we can rule out LF, as the idea of binding him with anything other than white gold doesn't sound right. We can also rul...

I am refining my feelings of the Final Chronicles. I think I understand better and better as time goes on what it is that they lack. (And it would be folly to assume that I won't understand more tomorrow than today.) So, today, what I think about is the way Donaldson now writes, and how that contri...
