Who's the better choice? Well that's Jess, obviously. :) She seems a little more stable. And classier actually (not that it's difficult). I don't have high expectations for Bret's desicion making process, though. But my money's on Jess. What do you think? And pick-up artist? Kosmo or Brady? (Brady, ...

Emotional Leper- Obviously my comment offended you, and it wasn't my intention to offend anyone, so I do sincerely apologize. I was trying to make an admittedly oversimplified distinction between DSM-IV Axis I major depression and Axis II depressed mood disorder, and probably didn't do it well. My o...

Ok, now, I don't know the specifics of Wilson's case 'casue I usually try to avoid this kind of celebrity "news", but... There's a lot of posts that have presented logical, well-thought out reasons for why someone in Wilson's position shouldn't be depressed. What's being missed though, is ...

Question about bookplates

But first, a quick comment. I think it is incredible that SRD is willing to provide signed bookplates through the mail. It really means a lot to me, and I'm sure to lots of other fans, who can't make it out to the west of the US for one of his book tours. Very cool and very touching. Does anyone els...

Ok, point taken. There's probably just as many guitar overdubs and layering. The music just seems to have more "space" in it and feels more "open". And I recognize that's not a particularly clear description, but I can't think of a better one. :?

I've heard Presence described as having a more "stripped down" sound, and aside from Achilles', I think that's true. A lot of the eastern-type influences (the droning of Kashmir, In The Light, Bron-yr-aur) is absent, and it's more clearly blues-based rock again. But I think it carries a lo...

KiGirl wrote I've also been watching that silly Brett Michael (Poison singer) show in VH1. Whew... I thought I might have been the only one. Although I started watching it cause I used to be a big Poison fan back in the day (which may be an even more embarassing admission than the fact that I watch ...

KiGirl-Yeah, this last episode could have been in pretty poor taste, but they did well with it. It seems like Mystery's doing more "play by play" analysis as he's watching what the guys are doing, too. I found that pretty interesting. Edge said: Gotta say, though: the name 'Mystery' for a ...

You know, I really like Presence as well, except for "Achilles' Last Stand". (My guess is that Cail, at least, will strongly disagree. ) The rest of the album is fantastic, and I think that Cail's point about the airplay time is a good one. "Achilles' " though, never reall...

Yeah, the names have to be part of their "peacocking" theory. Although, I'd imagine a name like Mystery or Matador is a least a conversation piece, which is probably the point. I can't really see ever taking a girl seriously if she had a name like that though. If a woman introduced herself...

Yeah, there are parts of the first season that are... rough, to put it politely. But I think, for someone who hasn't seen the show, if you find yourself enjoying half of the first season (or even half-enjoying it) it's worth it to keep going, as it really does get much better.

I'll take a stab at this, if you guys are interested in a newbie's opinion. :) I've heard lots of people call this the "best sci-fi show of all time" and while I think that may be pushing it, it is pretty darn good. From a historical perspective, this is the first show that I was aware of ...

I'm just amazed at how well thought out this is. All the terminology they use, the stepwise fashion of applying things.... it's impressive. I'm actually surpirsed that Mystery doesn't have a book out becuase it really seems as though he could. Oh, and I think Brady (the blond guy) will win it. Just ...

Lucimay, I agree. Bonham was an amazing drummer. When I started listening to Zep, I was primarily drawn to the guitars (having played some myself). Later it was the songwriting as a whole. But recently the thing I focus on most are the drums. Bonham's ability to lay down one heck of a groove was phe...

I have been watching it, and I managed to convince my wife to do the same. She had the same attitude going in that you did, KiGirl. But we're both really liking it, too. It had the potential to be really tacky, but it's not. Mystery (wow, what a dumb name  ) is actually trying to teach these g...

That song rocks! I've heard it a few times but could never catch the name of the group. Thanks, Wayfriend.

Anyone know if the rest of their CD is any good?

And am I the only one who hears Zeppelin's "Trampled Under Foot" in the chorus?

I actually thought Entre Nous came across well. I agree though, that Mission was outstanding. Digital Man and Circumstances were big surprises as well, as was Bangkok. All very cool. I thought Neil's drum solo this time around was great too. I always love the way he actually treats it as a piece of ...
