For the life of me, I can't remember the author or the title to this book... When I was in 7th grade (12 years old, 1980) I found a paperback of a horror book in my mmath class. It was about a high school girl who was babysitting for a family of 4 or 5 kids for 2 weeks. No sooner did the parents le...

I'm so absent minded. I thought I had replied after Salt, so I was surprised to see her 'new' reply. It took a moment to realise that I had not replied! I will do so tomorrow.

There is a long silence after Andrea's communication to Metanus. Static draws out for several seconds before the enginseer replies. ###Seneschal, you will have to repeat. Tell your party to stop all of that chatter, twenty people using the same channel at once only angers the Machine Spirits and mak...

DURANASTIL-PROVIDENCE II [ So which is it? 40 or 200? Or some number in between? Or is the 40 an advance party and the other 160 coming later when we find solid ground for the lander? Sorry if I've missed something just clarifying. ] [ Sorry, that's my fault for not giving all the information I sho...

WAY-STATION Drak-Kung leads the detachment into the bowels of the way-station, he and his men taking point and staying alert for any signs of movement. The advance squad of Armsmen sent to the Command Crypt have long since vanished from sight, dust soon settling on their wake. Andrea and Sterr foll...

t;]On the interior side of the vault doors a great tally of scratch marks, interspersed occassionally with inscribed marks of the Aquila, is barely visible beneath the dust. [ Clarify please: are these random looking scratches (e.g. - some non-sentient being clawing to get out), or organized markin...

Duranastil-Providence II [ The journey from the Invictus to the planet is lengthy, though not particularly arduous. I assumed that two landers would be used, with about two-score crew for the expedition altogether. Various armaments have been brought for the mission for a range of possibilities, in...

[ Astropaths are Conditioned and, partly because of this and their higher Willpower scores etc, they are more resistant. Sterr also strikes people as - despite a little odd - to be outside of undue influence. On the other hand, some psykers can be more susceptible to the Warp's predations ] As Metan...

Bring them with you too, then appoint someone lower down the ladder (who is, nonetheless the highest ranking person left). Kind of leaves a power vacuum, maybe giving an incentive for low-ranking berks to consider mutiny... but it doesn't break protocol. That's a pretty good suggestion, though you ...

Indeed. Alas, they are the only senior bridge staff left on the ship. Appointing someone below them would break protocol. On the other hand, you could leave someone outside of the chain of command in charge, such as Detronimus, Julient, or Du Preste, but they are all unused to that kind of authority.

In that case, just let me know who Zarkov leaves in command of the Bridge. The two senior bridge officers who haven't gone on a mission are Mordia and Vehle.

Hello, all. First up I want to apologise for my unexplained absence. It wasn't Thailand. Goatkiller is wrong, Cambodia is the place to be for that kind of holiday. Thailand costs too much in bribe money. Gary Glitter would agree. But, I haven't been away. An ex visited me for a week and I had mounta...

But the things is, there are few customs which could be considered to have 'perservered'. Granted, I think we'd probably agree that there are some human habits and tendencies which might be adequately described as traditions, but I think these are few. Almost anything that is claimed as a 'tradition...

I think ultimately it is evolutionary. Especially in the sense that it takes thousands of years to change it... --A I would argue that Hobsbawm was right, and that there are only invented traditions , no real traditions. But, an evolving tradition is another way of looking at it that I think ...

I will set to on one for you, in that case. Actually, you may as well get the ball rolling by deciding who and what you plan on taking. I don't think I would have to speed things up, as it would likely be a shorter encounter than the moon one.
