I'm Darth Nibbles on Discord, joined but unable to see.

Sgt, it's a persistent group chat system like Slack or Teams.

If you haven't played Rimworld since Alpha, you need the try the 1.2 update (and the Royalty DLC if you don't mind spending more). Plus... mods.

"Mod it 'til it breaks" applies greatly to Rimworld.

And check out on Reddit the /r/shitrimworldsays sub if you want to be truly horrified.

I'll throw my hat in 4's corner. Without it, we wouldn't have had any of the others :D

Although I am quite partial to both Empire and Last Jedi.

Av, you should try Rimworld, Factorio, and Gemcraft.

The Holy Trinity of gaming value... All three of them clock in at 5C or less per hour for me. Even Witcher 3 didn't reach that, only getting to around $0.30/hr.

Considering that each and every time we thought we found evidence of extraterrestrial life we've been disappointed, that's probably a good idea.

So essentially we found an unexpected chemical in the clouds of Venus.

One group of scientists says, "The only way we know of for it to be there would be bacteria."
Another group of scientists says, "Then it's made through a method we don't understand yet."

Life on Venus? Astronomers See a Signal in Its Clouds

Douglas Adams is both highly entertaining and a rather comforting escape from reality at the moment. I've been re-reading the complete Hitchhiker's series in tandem with The Stand.

What you claim to like vs what you actually watch

Inspired by an oddly placed thread in another forum that somebody has cast Thread Necromancy on... My favorite movies of all time are 2001 and The Seventh Seal. . At least, that's what I tell people... My actual favorite movies are The Hobbit (Rankin/Bass, not that Peter Jackson abomination!) and Cl...

Han shot first. I saw the first film 17 times in the cinema back in 1978. That is the version I like. If you're willing to look on the seedier side of the internet, you can find something called the "Silver Screen Edition." Put together and restored by enthusiasts from 4 of the original t...

 There are just some books where I am prepared to content myself with the Wikipedia summary - Picketty's works are amongst them. I'm sure they are very good.....but if the central points can be summed up in a few paragraphs without all of the dry background graphs and whatnot, then I'm all in ...

I don't know, I think Suckerpunch was rather daring and risky: both daring the audience to ogle these girls and showing just how disgusting they are for doing so.

Snyder can either make great movies or terrible ones, but I've never seen a mediocre Snyder film :D

I was excited to see this just for how fun and silly it could be, then I saw the $20 price tag and decided to skip it :D

Maybe a bundle of all 3 would be more palatable, but for now, I'll have to wait.

I'm curious about this for two reasons:

1) Snyder is a distinct visionary (proof of the Auteur film theory); even if you don't like his movies, they're guaranteed to be unique.

2) The original was a train wreck. A "Director's Cut" will be even more so. I want to see just how bad it can be.

Agreed. In respect of your examples, yes - it all starts to get a bit silly when people start bending the rules to justify what they see as right action. Either you agree with and live according to the Rule of Law .......or you do not. Honestly, that's why I couldn't get past the first episode of t...

I heard about this back when it debuted on Youtube and thought, "Well that's a dumb idea for a show." And, it is... But it's an incredibly well written dumb idea :D If you haven't run across it yet, the basic premise is that it follows the lives of the characters from The Karate Kid thirty...

Since I finished the series earlier this year, my over-arching view of the story has changed. The first season was great for slowly revealing the reality of what's going on, as well as the underlying central plot. The second season was too clever for its own good. The mystery didn't serve the story ...

So I picked up The Stand recently (the extended one), and so far I'm about a normal book's length into it and it's really just the introduction :D Not reading the rest of this thread yet because I don't want spoilers, but I'm enjoying it so far.
