It's kind of a false choice you're presenting me here, peter. When you say "as quickly as possible getting all of the vulnerable members of society covered", you're missing the fact that the new first dose patients that will be given the vaccine sooner because of the push back of the secon...

(Incidentally, my comments about this all having gone to far and my question (which was singularly failed to be answered) about how, in the face of Government inertia in respect of rolling back the restrictions (for whatever reason) we achieve this ourselves, still stands. I don't want to be wearin...

I'm afraid that this U-turn simply adds to the suspicion that this is what it is all about; find an exit strategy no matter what it is and **** the consequences. Chris Whitty should be ashamed of himself; he has become the Colin Powell of the pandemic. Hell of a U-turn peter. Not that long ago you ...

It doesn't seem to be an entirely settled question, peter. A doctors' union appears to have been the main opposition to the decision, on the basis that the cancellation of appointments for the 2nd dose is bad for the patients who were expecting to receive it, but a lot of experts are also supporting...

Herd immunity isn't really something that "ordinarily occurs" in these kinds of things. Most herd immunity comes from deliberate vaccination efforts, or things like chicken pox where exposure to a minor illness provides protection from a more serious one.

So what are you proposing, peter? That pretty much every government in the world is collaborating to take this out of proportion and impose controls on people? That the Tories in the UK conveniently discovered this new variant so they could impose more restrictions and therefore chose for the entire...

I have no idea who that person is and if you're only going to point to a single dissenting opinion I'm going to continue to pay attention to the majority on this. I get your point about hospital places not being adequate to deal with the pandemic. But what the fuck does that have to do with dealing ...

Take a look at the graphs of total cases over the last few months, peter. Look at how the number dipped downward last month... then shot back up right after the 1 month lockdown ended. Do you really think lockdowns don't work? They just keep trying to hard to please the people who want to not be in ...

How are you all finding the new raid? About halfway through normal on both my raiding characters atm (another raid tonight for one of them), and got Shriekwing Heroic down on one.

On that subject I will say that I like first person games a lot less when playing with a controller than with a mouse and keyboard, and first person also just naturally has a smaller field of view than third; a first person camera shows you less of your surrounding than even what you can see in real...

Hard drive dock arrived. Had to run a chkdsk /f before I could access it, but files seem to be intact. Not sure what to do with the drive once I've copied all these files off it though. Also I should probably replace the drive I'm copying the files onto , because it's actually older than the one tha...

Getting things backward there Sarge. Conservatives are much more likely to either not believe in the risk or just not obey the restrictions, making them more likely to get infected simply because of their own actions. (Though generally I believe the risk is more associated with economic class than a...

Woke up to a PC that wouldn't boot up. Little bit of googling quickly identified the problem as my secondary HDD; wouldn't start with it connected, booted fine without it. Same issue if I moved it to different cables and ports. Isn't too big of a problem because most of my stuff is on the SSD, but t...

Ah, well, in that case it's probably not what you're looking for. The Talos Principle is literally a puzzle game, not just a game with puzzles in it. The puzzles are the point.
