For Ak-Haru

Tattered robes, frail limbs
The highest calling of all?
To guard the One Tree

A Ship of Stone nears
Alas, the Worm, it awakes
White gold calls the stars

A blind man stands fast
To protect the world from death
In loss, victory

Redemption

TCTC has always been about redemption, as is most great literature/art. I am intrigued to find out how SRD plans to redeem what he has created, and how he will redeem the Earth itself. There is a lot of water to carry in the next two books. I believe that the Viles will be absolutely key in the ulti...

I agree that Anele is destined to commune with the Rock of the Earth. I don't see him having any real connection to trees at this point. I still think he will read the "One Rock" deep in the bowels of Mount Thunder for some sort of astonishing revelation, or to commune with the Worm of the...

OK, maybe the manacles aren't for Longwrath (in another thread, I argued this, but then agreed that he is probably not significant enough to warrant that much attention from the ur-viles.) however, I do think the theory that the manacles are for Joan carries water. She is a dire threat to the Earth,...

If I had a choice, I would rather that they journey to the homeland of the Haruchai, rather than Home. the Giants seem to be doing fine, but the Haruchai need some help.

Re: Things to consider

Manacles: See my previous post Staff: I think the blackness is significant (of course the runes are) I am reminded of the blackness of TC's venom in the 2nd Chrons. Ak-Haru: Ah yes, the ultimate blending. Part Elohim, Part Insequent, Part Haruchai. I hope we see more of this guy. Plus, I wouldn't mi...

I ALWAYS had the impression that the Manacles are for the Ravers.. THey were created by the Ur-viles, and the ur-viles would understand that it was the Ravers who turned the Viles and Demondim from beings of good to something quite bad.. It seems blatantly obvious that these manacles are to confine...

Dude, The Lorax RULES!!!!! And I think the Oncler was a raver! Ibet a Barbaloot could kick the ass of a Skurj anyday....and don't get me started on the untapped powers of a Sowamee Swan...and Gilden got nothing on a Truffala Tree.

What about Marthiir becoming the Forestal...wouldn't be the first time a guy with no eyes became one....

I think that the powers of a Forestal at his/her height can be nearly unchecked, but they rarely use them 'cept in time of DIRE need...healing the laws could qualify...

Or. more likely considering Linden's state of mind in Earthroot when the staff became black, both.

Does anyone think that the staff turning black and the fact that TC's venom in the 2nd Chrons was black have anything to do with each other? Of perhaps not connected, but thematically inter-related. SRD does not use color arbitrarily and is very specific about it. I think we can take some clues abou...

Does anyone remember how SRD phrased the "end" of the Viles? Since they were/are incorpreal, it;s entirely possible that they are still around, haunting the Lost Deep. I get the feeling that we will be seeing ALOT more of them. Their encounter with Linden in Berek's time foreshadows this g...

I, too, think that the Creator will figure in at some point, although he may never appear directly. But I suspect that he won't be doing what we expect he would be doing, trying to save his world. I agree, Wayfriend. I think the Creator has an agenda that is yet to be revealed. The Land has suffere...

But Kastenessen was bound by the Elohim to *be* the Durance. This binding is not the Durance itself. This binding is the will of the Elohim and the strictures of the Appointed. This binding is what Kastenessen slipped free from. In other words, we have a being who is imprisoned in order to become a...

As much as I think it would be cool, I don't think SRD will bring The Creator into the land for a few reasons: 1. Much too "Deus Et Machina" Poof! All of a sudden an all powerful being shows up to fix everything. Cheap gimmick and way below what we expect from him. 2. He has invested so mu...
