Named characters from the books are not for player choice. They are awarded by those who 'run' the MUSH based on dedication, helpfulness to the MUSH and role-play ability. Everyone would be obliged to start out their own character in the Land and role-play on that level. I picture the time of the MU...

It's simply a role-playing or storytelling medium. That's all. We'd be able to write and act in the Land. All in text--no graphics. As I said, there are MUSHes based on Tolkien, Pern, Amber, Vampires, etc. You guys don't role-play or want to role-play in the Land? I must've gotten the wrong impressi...

MUSH

Hey all! Wondering if you guys and gals who like to forum role-play would enjoy joining me in opening a MUSH based on TCTC. It would be an online, textual virtual world based on SRD's masterpiece. The role-play would be live and theatrical, not static like on a forum. for an explanation much better ...

Any serious interest in doing this MUSH?

I'm willing to open it up for creation, if so.

We'd need to settle on a time for role-play, of course.

I'm thinking between LFB and IEW.

I'll post up a query on the RP forum as well.

I need to re-read Runes...but (bear with me here) I got the impression that LF was speaking to the Creator when LA was translated to the Land. He doesn't speak to her---only to say something along the lines of: "To one such as you, I do not reveal my purposes (plans)" etc. Again, this is m...

I find it interesting that Infelice's response to TC when he asks: what have you done? Isn't: She has roused the Worm and Destroyed the Earth, but rather: Now every Elohim will be devoured. So, which is it? Or, does she mean both--but during the stress, lets slip the REAL motivation of the Elohim ag...

I've never seen one. Got a link? I've been in MUSHing for many years and never run across one.

Now, MUDs...yeah 2, which appear to be defunct.

Heh.

I take it from the lack of responses no one is interested in starting up an online MUSH where we can role-play and storytell?

It can also be used as a simple chat room with many different channels and forums, etc.

The OP has expressed eloquently my own dissatisfaction with the Last Chronicles so far. I'll just add that yes, I can detect SRD's more mature writing prose/narrative---but where is the mystery, the drama, the tension, the subtle misdirection I'm used to from him? I instantly knew TC was Roger from ...

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I am familiar with role-play forums. A MUSH is very similar except the posing and counter posing happen in real-time. Let me further explain: The MUSH must be 'built'. Room by Room. Or, if that sounds strange, Area by Area. Each 'area' will correspond to a location in th...

I just noticed that both links to both MUDs on the home page are broken. This might mean both MUDs are defunct?

Anyway, as I said, a MUSH is not at all the same thing as a MUD though there are some similarities (mainly in UI and 'look')

MUSH?

Hey all, brand new newbie here! I wonder if any of you would be interested in a MUSH based on the first chronicles? I see on the home page here a link for a MUD based on this story. I trust you know the difference between a MUD and a MUSH? In case you are not: MUD = Multi-user Dungeon. It's an autom...

Generally, I'm disappointed with the new Chronicles (or Last). The pacing seems rushed, less profound than what I expected from SRD. Overall, I get the feeling the plot is becoming contrived, artificial. After finishing FR, I started feeling as if the whole thing was merely a means for SRD to finall...

Hey all, Avid SRD fan. Had no idea these forums existed until I did a casual search online the other night following reading of FR. Glad to see this place and happy to join the discussion. I read the first chronicles way back when they first came out, etc and so on. These novels are second only to L...
