Quote from WP: "At a first glance, the most obvious similarity between these two works, apart from the story, are the names of the various characters. If The Gods in Wagner's "Ring" are represented in Donaldson's cycle as the Directors of the United Mining Companies Police, Warden Dio...

I read just today that he is penning a script for something called "10,000 B.C.". » Teleportation rings, attacking aliens, rampaging lizards, freezing weather and now cavemen? I guess we know how that turned out. 10,000 BC is coming to theaters in March. You've probably seen the comercial...

I definitely agree, Wayfriend. Whatever happened took place before Linden returned Joan's ring to her. But it occurs to me that her role in the summoning, whatever it was, was a passive one. Roger clearly took on a much more active role. I mean, that opening sequence between him and Linden--it was ...

I actually thought he meant Covenant when I was reading the Second Chronicles waaay back in the day. Foul seemed to obvious, of course he had to be fought. Didn't SRD say he thought of the Final Chronicles while writing the Second Chronicles? If so, he could have logically come up with Jeremiah back...

How can you not be impressed by A Game of Thrones ? Honestly, the characters weren't interesting for me. Well, not all of them - but most just didn't have the substance that I was hoping for. The general storyline just didn't hold my interest...this was the first book in a long time that I actually...

A friend of mine purchased George R. R. Martin's first book in A Song of Ice and Fire. Read it on Christmas and wasn't very impressed at all. Probably the first year that I have received a first book of a series and not wanted to read the rest of the books.

It's all spoilered out for me. I use IE 6. Maybe this is browser-specific? It shouldn't be all blacked-out. If it is, then the browser is rendering it incorrectly. (and by incorrectly I mean in a non-standard way) "span" is an inline element, whereas lists are not. In a sense, they break ...

On the one hand, in later years Kevin came to know enough about it to construct Amok, and Loric the krill. I'm not following this point, WF. Amok, who was the seventh war of Kevin's Lore, knew of the White Gold. See "The Illearth War" ~ p.249 Now, while the Krill responded to the White Go...

I doubt this is likely, but perhaps in the past when Elohim have mated with regular humans, the offspring become Insequent? This could explain why there was such a hub-bub when you-know-how mated with a human woman and imbued upon her the power of the Elohim... I don't believe it myself but thought...

Hello all, I suppose I should post in here as well for it is an honour to join this board.

I started reading the Chronicles in Grade 8 (back in '94) and have enjoyed reading the books numerous times as I always seem to enjoy the books more with each reading.

Can we expect the Giants to find their home?

After reading FR a few times, I have recovered the first chronicles and am in the process of re-reading them. After reading LFB I was caught again by Foamfollower's original mission to Revelstone. (It truly has been years since I read the original chronicles). Considering the recent "potency&qu...
