Interesting point, dmMike7. So maybe, if the Bloodguard had kept their Vow and remained with the Lords, Satansfist would have succeeded in his attack of Revelstone, because Lord Mhoram would never have "...sunk low enough for him to discover the power he needed to meet Revelstone's need."?...

Embarrassingly, I have a xbox360, a Wii, a ps3, a Dsi, and a pc purpose built for gaming. (I know, I know, I should go get a life, too, but that means getting up off the couch.) I'd recommend the 360, though it does depend somewhat on the age of your daughter. (Mine is 8 and she plays the Wii most o...

This thread is like a concentrated distillation of the 'Tank (not sure if it's making whiskey or napalm though!) Both will kill you, in high enough quantities. And my only point, High Lord Tolkien, was that I find this thread, and the 'Tank in general, fascinating. (Even if I participate little, an...

Earthfriend, the gist that I got out of it is that they preferred dying in a relatively painless way, rather than by being ripped to shreds by voracious monsters and dying in terror. But that was exactly what the lead character did after shooting the rest of his crew, including his son. He knew he ...

I thought he'd left it that way because King tends to favour 'happy endings' (comparatively speaking), at least in what I've read of him. Because any gas station they stop at would be infested with the horrors in the mist. Granted, but my point is if you are going to off yourself by giving yourself ...

Re: The Seven Hells

In the Second Chronicles, the Seven Hells are defined as: Desert, Rain, Pestilence, Feritility, War, Savagery, and Darkness... but why were only the first four actual 'Suns' of the Sunbane? Good catch. In my opinion, The Seven Hells are part of the false mythos Foul has created for the people of th...

I know I'm going to regret this, but.... Blender Bernaise and Hollandaise?! And if that wasn't bad enough - I mean, what finally tipped me over the edge...on Monday, a man ordered powdered Bernaise sauce through my work; just add hot water. Still, it does take some time to learn, so if the blender p...

Re: The Creator

...why didn't TC ever mention the fact that he actually had a conversation with the Creator to any of the people of the land both before his first transition and upon returning in TSC. [/i] I think upon his return to the Land, Covenant was completely thrown by the fact that this time, the Creator h...

I thought "Man on Fire" was a much better movie based upon a similar premise. I agree. At least Creasy (Denzel Washington) paid a cost for his actions. Mills (Liam Neeson) may as well have worn a cape and tights, he was so unstoppable. Still, I did enjoy Taken , but that doesn't mean I've...

I could not have said it better. I can only add that I believed that if even one tree remained in the Land, the Colossus would not have completely fallen. But despite the efforts of Hamako's Rysh(sp?), despite Andelain, the Colossus still fell, a testimony to the corruption of Despair.

My only expectation is that once dinner is served, everyone stops what they're doing and eats while it's hot. I get quite frustrated if the meal I've somewhat lovingly prepared is left to grow cold while people just finish the last bit of washing, or wait till the Simpson's end, or get to that next ...
