Rocksister has spoken well - but also consider that maybe another reason we love Mhoram so much is his ability to forgive. We all were shocked at Covenant's rudeness, crime of rape, unbelief, and yet Mhoram still treated Covenant with respect, kindness and compassion - I suspect we all would love to...

Roger's high on my list of the potentially redeemed before the end. He may die, but I hope for reconcilliation before the end. Mostly because I hope that his father will mean more to him than Lord Foul's empty promises. You may have a good point there - what could Roger want anyway? Sure, he's got ...

Sill, I used to, but alas, I have aged and that body is no more. I even had the long red hair. Never had the cool outfit with sword though. Luis Royo is the artist I stole from for that avatar; if you can find a web site with some of his art work, this picture I have used will become meaningless to...

Exactly. I think a lot of the readers tend to project an Ilúvatar-Melkor type of relationship onto the Chronicles (or a Jahveh - Lucifer one, for that matter). But for all we know, the relationship can be dualistic, they can be of equal stature, and the Creator just knew a better move when they wer...

I know SRD's back ground in India probably provided a dualistic basis for the theological tension between the creator and Foul - but the fact is that Foul is a prisoner - not the creator. The creator has limited himself as an act of kindness ( if he didn't the beings he loves and values would die ) ...

So? What's the big deal about the arch being destroyed? Foul gets out, the Creator totally owns him again and this time does it right and controls Foul.

Foul getting out of the arch is like a 3rd grader getting ahold of Mike Tyson - Beat down...alright.

I'm just saying...

I am not convinced that "like and respect" is SRD's goal for Linden. I think he asks more of his readers. I think he wants us to try to understand their choices (whether or not you agree with them) and go along for the journey. But show me where she does something not "respectable&qu...

I know we're suppose to "like and respect" LA, but I'm still waiting to be convinced. I even want to like her, but, you have to admit that being screwed up from a bad childhood experience is weak stuff when trying to convince the Haruchai - it would be weak in trying to convince you too if...

Excellent thoughts on this...if it's true that she's in the land - man the land's getting crowded! Our world is really flooding the land with interesting characters - rapists, rude people, bad military commanders, and psychopaths...what's next?

There goes the neighborhood!

Then maybe they represent her misbegotten direction - her misunderstanding of what the land ultimately needs. Perhaps a devotion which leads to well meaning but wrong actions.

Hey, maybe it's as simple as what happens everytime DEA uses an informant or the D.A. cuts a deal with someone. They used TC - so? like he deserves anything better? He had a "duty to act" - that's our law ( or his if he wants to use the "real" world system of morality and jurispr...

I've often wondered how the unhomed got lost if in the second chronicles the giantship Starfare's Gem was able to get to and from the land relatively quickly from several different lands. I mean it wasn't a years long jouney. How was it that the unhomed searched for millenia without success?
