Yeah, Usivius, I knew he'd appeared in that. Pretty funny, too. What a potty mouth!

I'm late to this discussion. I picked Tolkien by a very narrow margin, only on personal taste. As far as being a craftsman, I believe Donaldson is as good or better than anyone. My picking LotR is purely because I like the story better. So again looking at the poll question, I think I answered wrong...

Sindatur, did you ever read Herbert's Dune ? "Thinking Machines" were outlawed in that universe, and humans were trained to be "Mentats." Basically, human computers. I'm still puzzled where this is all going. I appreciate the concept that the machines became aware, and threw off ...

For mis casting, and using some dead actors, here goes. Nick: The Duke, John Wayne. "Cause I'm Nick Succorso, pilgrim, and I never lose!" Warden: Jimmy Stewart. Just think of the stuttering! Marc Vestibule: Truman Capote. OK, not an actor, but still ..... Morn: Vivian Leigh, as Scarlett O'...

I will say that Gandalf's claim to the balrog that he was a "servant of the secret fire" is probably a reference to the Ring given him by Cirdan, Narya the red ring, also known as the Ring of Fire. If you check at the Encyclopedia of Arda website, the reference to being a weilder of the Fl...

Back to a previous question about Huan being mentioned in The Book of Lost Tales: Huan's tale is told in full in the chapter "Of Beren and Luthien" in The Sillmarillion as published. However, any other dogs or cats were apparently weeded out of the story over the years, until the "fin...

Wow, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Willie Mays. Check his stats sometime. And don't forget what a fabulous fielder he was. The Say Hey kid. Until all the injuries, Junior Griffey had a shot at being the greatest all time. I don't see that happening now, with basically three years lost to injury...

Where'd you get that info? I must have missed that in the book.

I'm liking Neville more all the time. That boy is kinda like a hobbit. Appears all soft and timid, until you put him in a tight place. I'm thinking that's why the Sorting Hat put him in Griffindor.

Yes, the shadows near Amber are more orderly and Amber-like. One would expect to find our Earth on the Amber end of things. The farther "out" you go from Amber, the more Chaotic things become, until you get to the Courts themselves.

Personally, I really liked how Eremis ended his existence, mind wiped, staring at himself eternally. Terisa's comment to leave him, because he's probably happy that way, made me giggle. She had truly learned the joys of revenge. It was a fate worse than death for the brilliant (in his own mind) Erem...

Hello

Hi gang. Nice forum here. I come by way of several defunct websites, where we had some SRD discussion, but never an entire site dedicated to SRD. This is great!
