It's fairly obvious isn't it? If horses were smarter, we'd pull the carriages and ploughs and they'd be on the web. :) It's the understanding of long-term cause and effect and the ability to formulate complicated plans to achieve an objective that I would suggest is the relevant part of us "bei...

Who's the woman that played the witch in the Narnia movie? That character reminds me of Infelice. Tilda Swinton. Won an Oscar for her role opposite Clooney a week or two ago. im.sify.com/entertainment/movies/images/feb2008/movies_300x400.jpg As the White Witch - in that role, she's pretty good for ...

Harrison Ford is playing Indiana Jones in his 60s. In movie land male leads routinely play character 20 years younger than they actually are. Hugh could be mid 30s with no sweat. And TC isn't really a babyfaced mid-30s in 1st Chrons. ;)

I was also thinking that there's only one staff of Law and that the staff Linden made in WGW and is lugging around now will somehow travel back in time to land in Berek's hand - I posted it somewhere else not realising it had been discussed already in this thread. My prediction is that Berek DID get...

Can't see "The Wounded Land" being nearly as powerful if you don't already love the Land as it once was. Reading the 2nd Chrons first would also ruin the visceral reaction to many of the shocking moments in the 1st Chrons, should you decide that you do like the story and want to go back. I...

From the GI - looks like I'll have to keep on dreaming - Q - In Runes, the Haruchai, have set themselves up as defenders, and oppressors, of the people and the Land. Now we all know men are tough, but women can be down right nasty when backed into a corner. Can't their wives come down out of the mou...

Well you can't say he didn't warn us: SRD in an answer on the GI from March 2004: "I don't believe that there are any conditions under which life can exist without death. It follows, therefore, that between them Caer-Caveral and Elena have opened the door for the utter destruction of the Earth....

Haruchai women

It occurred to me today that one glaring omission that it would be interesting to see SRD tackle is the Haruchai women. We've seen plenty of their menfolk going about their stoic way, and we've heard lots of allusions to their wifes and the passion they inspire, but they seem to fall into the same c...

Agree with most of the replies, if Foul gets him, it will be in a Hile Troy kind of naively playing into Foul's hands method, rather than Liand deliberately falling. I think either Liand's new Ramen girlie or Liand might not make it however - which will lead in turn to some major development. All th...

Yeah, his compassion for the living beings inhabiting that world, and maybe some concern about the outcome of a battle between himself and Foul would seem to be most obvious reasons why he has done so.

Not a chance, I'd say. I'd bet the (haven) farm that we'll be back in the time of Kevin, and probably in the time of Kastessen's relationship with the mortal woman, before the end.
