I agree with an earlier post by Stonemaybe. I have to say that, though I am an incredible fan of Erikson, Toll the Hounds was not that good. I felt so dissapointed about so much. Every plot line in the book either ended up seeming pointless, boring, or biult up and then flopped over to die. Especial...

Yes, but he started out in Kruppes dream and needed a blood sacfrifice before he physically manifest himself. My point is: without Kruppe K'rul would still be essentially powerless and out the mix. Kruppe is pretty weird and my guess is that he has been around a lot longer than he lets on. Though I'...

They really are great, seriously epic in every sense of the word. They are incredibly deep in scope, and never take things too lightly! There is almost no such thing as an unimportant event in that series. (well kinda) :) ...but please, most people have questions and are especially confused (yet inc...

Re: Kruppe
Jenn and I were chatting, and we were discussing Kruppe's nature. He's powerful enough to be a god, for sure. My argument against it, however, is that K'rul doesn't seem to know he's one. At least there's no hint that he knows it in their conversations. But if he's not , then what the hell is he?! ...

Hello everyone! I'm Nequam. I'm a newbie to this series, and am in the middle of Illearth War at the moment. (loved the first one to a great extent!!!) This site was referenced to me through another forum for Steven Erikson's A Tale of the Malazan Book of Fallen . (my favorite writer...but now very,...

Re: Ringthane Covenant: The Video Game
The movie thing being dead in the water, what about a Land-based video game? Tons of possibilities. I'm not a big gamer but my son is. His perennial favorites are the Morrowind games and especially with the Oblivion incarnation, I look at the graphics and see the Land. It just makes me think what a...

Re: JD
I saw all six books at a Barnes and Noble recently in paperback. Also there was a special running in the Science Fiction Book Club recently. JD Yeah same here. In fact, every book store I've been to has had at least some of the first and second chronicles and they all had the Runes of Earth. I'm ne...
