The NASA-fraud example, at a quick glance, appears to be someone getting caught for doing something illegal. Octomom, while she can be universally reviled for being a fool, adding to the burden on society, being a delusionally bad parent for thinking she can take adequate care of all those kids, etc...

But this does point out an interesting problem. If we are willing to believe things with such little proof, we can't dismiss *anything,* even Rus's demon explanation. Not true. The magic of belief is that it is just as easy as disbelief. The problem you have is that you keep trying to reconcile ind...

Seeing an attractive woman and paying close attention is the same as SRD described. I'm not convinced at all. But a great deal of the impact of his reaction - the rape - is the result not of her beauty, but the fact that the Land had done the impossible - restored to him what he thought leprosy had...

I don't remember Wall-e or Aslan or Harry Potter getting raped. Maybe I missed that. I also don't remember Harry Potter nearly falling in love with his own rape child. Nor do I remember HP dealing with themes also dealt with by existentialism philosophers such as Sartre, Camus, or Heidegger. :haha:...

You forget about the large swath of time between 1st and 2nd Chrons. 1,500 years or so, right? That's the time the ur-viles took to have a change of heart and decide to make Vain.

The Elohim are very powerful, but apparently they are like magpies in some respects - if the structure you build is magnetic enough, they cannot help but be drawn to it - they are expressions of Earthpower which gives them might unmatched, but at the same time their nature provides operating paramet...

Hilarious. I can only hope it comes to a movie theater near me. I was just talked into watching 'The Jane Austen Book Club' with my wife this weekend - I will never get that time back. I watched a movie abut people reading books!
Where were the Zombies on Saturday? They could have saved me...

The problem with Bisquick is that everything you make with it ends up tasting like you made it with Bisquick.

Mixing up your dry ingredients from scratch produces far better results.

As the direct result of this thread, I think I will change my sig to BCakaDWakaD - because it sums up my alter egos and is fun to pronounce - it makes me sound Zulu.

USA swimming is acting like a douchebag by giving him 3-months suspension. Kellogg's (however over-reactionary it may be) is acting completely within their contractual rights. Phelps is being paid to promote Kellogg's because of his image, and Kellogg's gets to determine if that image has been impac...

To me, the only outrage is coming from the media, who tend to profit from generating outrage. Just because he is on the world's pedestal doesn't mean he isn't still just a college-age kid. Oh yeah, who trained h-a-r-d through most of his childhood, or rather in place of it. And, has a few million do...

I haven't been 100% with this show since the writers' strike in Season 2.

I got cornfused near the end of this last arc - but I'm a sucker for comic-book stories - so I'll probably keep watching, if only to comment on the show's decline. <sigh>
