Thanks, Akasri. I'll see if I can find the other thread.
Maybe they've proofread and corrected ASoIaF since then. That would be great.

Hiya, Do any of you own the Kindle (Amazon) ebook versions of the Chronicles? Or any other Kindle versions of his books (especially the Gap novels)? Are they any good? How about typos and other mistakes? I heard that the Song of Ice and Fire ebooks are very poor quality. Lots of typos on every page,...

I've started reading the Hickory Staff and so far - the characters have all been two-dimensional (the nerd, the athletic guy, the amazingly beautiful blonde who falls in love with the nerd for no apparent reason ...) - the reactions to their transformation to another world have been very unbelievabl...

I think it may be an indication that she's living (again) too much in her past, (although considering the incredibleness ;) of the recent past, what with visiting the Land and all, it may not be surprising), but I don't see it as arrogant. That, I see as...well...perhaps sad. You may be right. It d...

Yeah. And calling Linden arrogant because she adopted a sick child is like calling someone selfish for volunteering to work in a shelter, or like calling someone a show-off because they give to charities. In fact, it is a humble act. C'mon, that's not what I wrote. I wasn't referring to her relatio...

Maybe a little off topic (and I agree with what you say about TC's motivations and Lena representing the Land): In the German version of the books, the word that is used to translate 'desecration' is actually another word for rape. I'm just wondering if this is the same in English. Because I've alwa...

Yeah, it makes sense. I just see it another way; the Linden before TWL was a person who had serious issues with death, and I think she became a doctor because of that. I think that Covenant was the first person she was actually able to let go of; and her caring for Joan is her way of thanking Thoma...

My last point is purely speculative (heh, just like the first three): I believe Linden will not save the Land this time. If you look at the 1st 2 chronicles, Thomas saved the land the 1st time, and Linden saved it the 2nd time, which means that the Creator knows how good Foul is at adapting his gam...

Just one thing: In chapter one, Linden discusses how her life is fulfilling and complete. There's no hint that there's any unresolved internal struggle, as Covenant had in LFB, as Linden had in TWL. In fact, the author goes out of his way to point out the opposite. Did you really get the impression ...

I was in 6th or 7th grade when I first started reading it. I read Stephen King's The Stand when I was 11 (holy crap, my daugher's age!). It's a matter of maturity, I think. Lord Mhoram is what, 16 or 17, and he certainly understood it, so I don't think it's just a question of age. I know I get more...

Maybe the solution is to put forward the notion that Covenant is prone to such hallucinations, maybe that his medications are potentially causing it? I don't know if this is ever said in the book, so I don't know. We were posting at the same time...;) What about the hurtloam/aliantha experience and...

Hello Wayfriend I don't know how they could create the impression that the land is not real. If people know that it's a fantasy movie, they're ready to suspend disbelief quickly. But maybe they could use a technique that is so point-of-view that we can understand that it's unbelievable to HIM. But m...
