Re: When is the next book coming out?

I cant find any information on this anywhere. When do people expect the next book to come out? it wont take 3 years will it? I read through all these forums and I couldn't find my answer anywhere and so I am reduced to having to start a new thread. Not soon enough. I keep a copy of Fatal Revenant n...

Donaldson's answer, in Relayer's post above, seemed to settle the question, and indicated that they were not forbidden by a person per se , but bound by circumstances and perhaps also by Law. I don’t want to get too specific about this. However, you might want to consider the possibility that Linden...

Re: Significance of the toy car?

What if it was just part of the elaborate disguise? Jeremiah drops the car after the truth is shown. This symbolises the end of this particular deceit. "Jeremiah" no longer needs the car.

I suspect that even though Roger was pretending to be TC, and wanted Linden to become suspicious of the ur-viles, that he actually was telling the literal truth... the Manacles are for Roger. OR .... Roger was telling the literal truth, and they were for Thomas. 8O I find that plausible. And it has...

Oh Shit - Don't tell me this is going to end like Narnia in CS Lewis' 'The Last Battle' I think the last Elric novel ended with the destruction of everything. Some darn sword sucking the life out of the Gods and humans. I sincerely hope there is no Last Dark in the last book. But I expect the worst.

My favourite sequences are all from the original chronicles: the tales of Runnik and Tull in The Illearth War; and Mhoram's victory from TPTP. These and the originality of the setting bring me back to the First Chronicles year after year. Btw ever listed "oh s**t" moments for the bad guys:...

Donaldson said in the GI that his symbolic structure gets more complex as you move from the 1st Chrons to the 2nd, and I assume this applies to the 3rd, too. He said that complexity increases because in the 2nd, the Land is an externalization of both TC and LA. So we've got those two individual sto...

The Atlas of the Land is fantastic - an artefact to treasure. Maybe one of the lost Wards ;-)

Here's a wiki entry on the author of the Atlas. Sadly she passed away just over 2 years ago.
