Welcome, Vader. Köstritzer Schwarzbier is a nice black lager. If you're looking for some roasty flavors in a smooth lager, it's a nice choice. And, for educational purposes only--not to be nit-picky or contrary--Guinness is an ale (Irish or dry stout, in particular). So while it might be tempting t...

Are all of these reds, Vader? The first duty of a wine is to be red. A full-bodied Pinotage would be quite good probably. Anyway, wine/food matching conventions are being shattered around the world, as people realise that experimentation yields remarkable results. Personally, I'm not a big fa...

Excuse me if I appear to be all over the place as a n00b, but if you ever come to Germany try these here: Köstritzer Schwarzbier (our answer to Guinness, though actually already a few hundred years older) Jever Pilsener (Beer from Northern Germany with some extra hop which gives it bit of tartness) ...

The best thing to ever happen to F1 was Schumacher retiring! I am a huge F1 fan and Schumacher is from country but I completely agree with you. Actually more than that - the best thing was BOTH Schumacher's retiring. I have been a McLaren fan since the days of James Hunt (I was 6 years old back the...

As a rule of thumb I would try to find out where exactly the recipe comes from and then try a wine from that region. Thanks,Vader. I pretty much season my crown roast on my own, using kosher sea salt, fresh cracked black pepper, and fresh rosemary. No real region to refer to for reference. Barolo. ...

I would say it depends on the seasoning, herbs, sidedishes and so on. However, one thing is clear: you are looking for a strong wine, full body with lots of tannins - the afrementioned Barolo would certianly be the perfect choice for lamb. If you like it less strong (and a not quite as expensive) a ...
