JRRT vs SRD

I thought I'd add my opinion to this forum. I believe both authors spoke significantly to their respective generations. It is too bad that you didn’t pick up on the main themes of Donaldson’s that I covered, like his eye of the paradox. Umm...that might not be so good, I mean...what could we discuss after SRD lays down the absolutes? hrm... :? :D The author of this book could probably answer this better than I, but in literary criticism in general , the author of the book being analyzed is rarely (if ever) the definitive source, o...

I'll buy it. I wonder if she includes the Last Chronicles? Amazon says the anticipated ship date is May 18th. The publisher, McFarland, asked me to include the Last Chronicles, though that made me very uncomfortable because, of course, it isn't finished yet. So I limited my analysis to the characte...

To Wyldewode,
Actually it was my Tolkien professor at UCR who recommended Donaldson to me. Who first suggested that you read the books?

Hi, everyone, I'm new

I've been meaning to contribute to this site for a long time. I guess I just needed an invitation from Jay. So here I am. To tell you a little about myself, I am a professor at Palomar College. I have been reading and teaching Donaldson's works for about 30 years now. I met him for the first time wh...
