I was in a used CD shop and stumbled across a copy of Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver for the PSone. I used to own it and missed it almost as much as I miss my PSone Tomb Raider games. I picked it up for three bucks. Quite the deal, but it cost me three times as much and a search of five Gamestops to sco...

About 300 pages into Toll the Hounds. Loved the exchange between Gothos and Kallor. "I greet you as guests and so will not crush the life from you and devour your souls with peals of laughter. No, instead, I will make some tea." ... Skintick squatted to pick up two of the cups, straighteni...

Finished NoK recently and gotta say I thought it was pretty bad. Esselmont obviously has a different take on the world than Erikson, and i didn't like his take. Other than the ultraviolence, the book seemed like your garden variety teen fantasy novel. There were some passages that were good, but it ...

Just finished Reaper's Gale and I think it's the best one since MoI. The ending seemed a bit rushed, and yeah, Karsas fight with Rhulad was over before it began. After waiting 800 odd pages for it it went odf pretty damn quick. Icarium just disappears after his machine breaks down after destroying a...

I've been able to read all the books through my local library and inter-library loan. Just finished Reaper's Gale and the library should have my inter-library loan copy of Toll the Hounds either today or Monday. One day I'll own my own copies, because re-reads seem essential, but for now the library...

Read GotM 4 or 5 months ago and have just completed book 7, Reaper's Gale. One more and I'll be caught up and current. I'm a pretty fast reader too, but these books need to be savored and attention paid to the fine details. Hold off on reading Night of Knives until you're at least four or five books...

I finished this one a few days ago and - as usual - I'm confused about a lot of things. :D For one thing, which side is Spite on? First, she helps free the D'vers so that Mappo Trell can be replaced as Icarium's keeper, and then she's sailing with Cutter, Mappo, Heboric's corpse, and Kalem's brother...

There seems to be depressions where eyes would be had the demondim-spawn eyes. I think their nostrils would take up most of the available space above the mouth in creatures that didn't have eyes and were never intended to have them, but were intended to do a lot of sightless sniffing. Big hands and ...

I generally start with a title and hope to wrap a story around it. It's easier than it looks. Sometimes it takes two or three or ten different wrappings though. But one or two of those wrappings becomes a differently titled story in its own right. Then, one of Aliantha's methods comes into play. Tit...

They're not usually even bi-pedal. I don't think they stand up unless they're standing still. Otherwise they scuttle and lope on all fours.

Having a snout would give them more room for olfactory aparatus, but I've never pictured them that way.

And I certainly look NOTHING like that. :D

Some of the cynicism "these days" is justified by the events of "these days".

Cynicism today about the veracity of a well documented Global event that occurred 40 years ago is cynicism for its own sake.

I agree about Gleason and the Honeymooners. A show that is vastly better than just about everything the subsequent years have produced.

Hey Demondime...why the boobs? Was it to create tension for the hero? Maybe he can't keep his concentration, but is grosed out by it? To be honest? I don't remember. It was nigh on twenty years ago and I did a lot of drinkin' and smokin' back then. Might have just been thumbing my nose at the Comic...
