we also learned of the creators female counterpart that foul corrupted. i assumed they were just mirror images in water, one perfect and one distorted. maybe even brothers but their eternal animosity is more detailed than i expected. another thing learned is also the necessity of balance. if the wor...

im failing to remember which book said it but all three ravers were the spirits of lord fouls dead viles, original race that is. in his quest to create the perfect army, they sprang forth from the dead souls that were wasted and broken. each raver's "existence" had been combined from the m...

I like where your going with this thread. Donaldson doesnt seem to be a writer that just throws ideas in the air and hope for the best if you look at his ravers, you'll see a few underlining concepts that paint a fairly clear picture into their nature. Jehannum, is the Islamic name for "hell&qu...

i havent read the reviews about the book, except from here. i personally cant say i "hated" anything about AATE. i didnt like the way it ended but it wasnt bad, just aggravating that i must wait. it was nice to have TCs POV return, if only to bargain with the lurker then kill joan!!!

Runes on the staff and black powers

We still have no meaning of the runes.....ugh!!! Caerroil Wildwood seemed sorrowful of the future for the forrestrals and the woods. maybe he inscribed a way to return through the staffs power. sunder and hollian tried to expand the forests with the staff but had no lore to do it right. maybe those ...

The first book wasn't thrilling enough for people without car crashes and pyrotechnics!!! To much thinking required people with this mass...

and by emerge you mean, what? that he'll withdraw from the staff or he will have a greater influence on the staff's effects? its a valid thought. however, i would say neither. i believe if it had been the old staff, splinters would have remained. this staff's creation was taking 2 lives and making 1...

this might be a little long.....sorry Before TC was summoned into the land, lord foul was unable to affect the arch. in FR, TC was brought back from the dead. if you read the 1st chapter of AATE, you'll see that foul was simply manipulating the peoples of the land. words and council were all he had ...

Im still seeing a tremendous amount of similarities concerning the 2 items. what im not seeing is abundant detail about them. i would guess this next book, AATE is going to explain the possibilities for the worm with these metals. their origins may be linden and TC's solution for its imprisonment. a...

i highly doubt they just through items together with lore, but it brings a valid point to mind. the metals used might be irrelevant, unlikely, but i do believe the lore was the most significant aspect to it. you make a point with intention. the desire to sustain law from the heals may have been what...

Krill's blade and the heals of the staff

We know the krill was made by Loric. [mod edit - the following sentence contains a piece of information revealed in chapter 1 of AATE. Please do not discuss information from AATE in this forum.] Loric found its stone in Melenkurion Skyweir. We presume the stone is a shard from the "the One Ston...
