I started from the beginning from LFB (what seems like an age ago now) in preparation for TLD and read all the way through to the end. I finished TLD this morning. Speaking, obviously, only for myself, I'll say that I found TLD in some ways a disappointment, BUT, I expected to feel that way. Specifi...

Simon Smith is indeed a Watcher! and I'm very grateful to John/Romeo for asking me to put some noises together for the trailer. Being a typical composer not only did I take far too long to do it but also got carried away and made something far too long that doesn't necessarily fit the initial requir...

Has anyone else seen this? Michael Haneke is easily my favourite director (not sure what that says about me...); in my dream world he makes the TC films as I can't imagine anyone else treating the material with the seriousness it deserves. And I also love the fact that he basically doesn't use music...

Oh. One other thing. Maybe I was the only one, but towards the end of TIW as Elena, Covenant et al reach the sunless lake, I couldn't stop thinking of the 'lake of tears' that lies behind the sixth door in Bartok's opera Bluebeard's Castle. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtdmaREL3jo Not specifically the vi...

Thoughts on re-reading
So. I'm re-reading all the Chronicles so far in preparation for TLD. Recently I started TPTP. As I've been going all sorts of profound (ha!) ideas and realisations have come to me, though obviously in the heat of the moment - since I'm busy reading - I don't write these down and therefore don't reme...

1) Yes! Obviously I'll write the score :) 2) 100 million seems a lot. I guess we're used to the budgets for this sort of thing being utterly enormous these days, but that said I'm sure it's easier to spend that much than we'd think, even just on LFB. (4 million is definitely too low though!) 3) Not ...

Thanks for the welcome everyone :) Albuquerque is quite a journey. But hey, you never know. Also my AATE is a piece for orchestra, so we'd need to assemble 80 pro musicians (or so), which to play for 13 minutes, is probably a bit difficult logistics-wise. And not terribly cheap :) I tend to not to p...

Hello. Long-time lurker, etc. I just re-read Gilden-Fire (in the context of my first proper re-read of all the Chronicles in preparation for TLD). Lots of astute comments above, of course, but one paragraph stood out for me in particular: Korik suppressed the tonal lilt of his native tongue to speak...
