The moment that didn't work for me in TLD that meant most to me was the absorption of Foul into Covenant. I thought they would meld more into a single entity, but it's more like Covenant is containing Foul, which wasn't what I imagined, and I don't see it as the culmination of 'Covenant beats Foul, ...

Did anyone ask or comment about their dissatisfaction with the Last Chronicles? He wrote previously recognizing how difficult the story would be to write, which was a large part of why he delayed writing it for so long. Did he talk about whether he succeeded or failed (in his own opinion) in writing...

Linden currently has Lord Foul's ring! TC gave the ring to Lord Foul. Just because he faded away when he tried to use it against TC doesn't mean TC regained rights to the ring so that he could rightfully give it to Linden. I seem to remember GI questions about this topic as well... Kinda sucks, does...

I screwed myself reading book of the new sun because i kept expecting the story to go in a certain direction. it didn't go that way and i kept reading faster and faster expecting something particular to happen. when it didn't i got frustrated and i think i stopped after the third book, or maybe i sk...

i like having the prequel trilogy on as background noise sometimes, as i can ignore the crap and watch the good parts. i agree with most of the stuff listed. other things i like: the decapitation at the end of the mace windu vs jango fett fight. how jango just offs that one earlier jedi with a few b...

*shrug* to each his own, yes? i've been reading SRD over the years, and my taste in literature has been developing in a similar vein to his writing style. So the Last chronicles work well for me. His development as a person and author has just led him in this direction. But it is different from what...

I seem to recall SRD saying that he is forced to write by certain ideas -- he doesn't pick his ideas, they pick him. And somewhere he said that while he had the idea of the Last Chronicles for 20 years, he delayed actually writing them, letting other ideas instead bubble to the surface, take control...

not sure that fulfilling the loop negates free will. i think of it like the gargoyles cartoon. if we go back in time, whatever actions we take were already part of the timeline. but we still chose those particular actions. *shrug* it makes sense to me, but i can see how some would view it as a contr...

The Gap Into Conflict: The Real Story - Chpt 9
Angus needs to get money from somewhere to get repairs and supplies for his ship. He chewed on that for a while, until the implications made him feel cornered and murderous -- more like his old self than he had felt for days. Again having to feed on his rage, his way of hiding from the insecurities ...

hmm... i believe itw as srd's concession to the way we're butchering the english language, and that eventually the apostrophe would go the way of the dodo because people would forget how to use it, and so eventually it would just disappear. though nowaday's it seems people put in too many apostrophe...

well, there is a built-in limiter because if she messes with time, then the arch will be destroyed. i think that limits her potential interference to things that have already happened, or that will not be recorded. ie, if she 'changes' the past, that change has to already be in the timestream (the t...
