As already noted his experiences have made him cautious and hopefully a little wiser but I think being an outsider is a big influence on his being an acceptable contender for the position of alend monarch. I can definitely see the various alend factions being more willing to accept an outsider who h...

I think she deserved to be taken down a peg. Eremis may have manipulated her behaviour for his own ends and put her up to a couple of things but she had clearly grown overconfident with her ability to use her sexuality to get what she wanted. From what she tells Teresa about her past successes it se...

Decision at Doona, the Crystal Singers trilogy, the Freedom's landing trilogy, the first Acorna book and the Talent trilogy are the best of Anne's non-pern books imho. The Talent trilogy is actually a prequel series to the Tower and Hive series and features the first Peter Redinger as one of its cha...

Well I don't think Fayle has to share a border with Alend, I do have Alend to the north and west and up north it does share a border with Caldwal, there's no way Cadwal and Aldend can have a continuous border and make sense. I do have mountains backing Tor---the Swamp is the big deal to me--I put i...

Its mentioned in Mirror of her Dreams when Quillon is explaining about the history of Mordant. Page 88 he says about Cadwal being to the east and Alend to the north and west, and also that stuff about the Cadwal/Alend border being contiguous along the swoll river and the great swamp, and on page 93 ...

Those are both great maps :) Which is why i feel really mean when i suggest that you have misplaced the great swamp  The Tor is clearley described as being surrounded by perdon, armigite, domne and termigan with mountains at its back. No mention of any swamp. Also Cadwal is described as being ...

I would pick the Perdon :(

Whilst the others suffered horrible deaths they seemed to happen fairly quick whereas the Perdon, though we dont see his death on page, has a fairly prolonged and painful death at the hands of his worst enemy.

I recommend Patricia C. Wrede. She is a quite good for fantasy with strong female protagonists and has written quite a few books so should keep them occupied a while. I would also suggest Tamora Pierce for the same reasons. Especially the books that are set in the world of Tortall. There are about f...

Cant say about the other books mentioned on that list but as someone who owns and has repreatedly read and reread the Pern series over the years i can definitely say that it sounds like the person making the list has never read any of the Pern books and has heard a grabled account of how the dragon ...

Yes that is what i was trying to say though it kinda devolved into a rambling sorry  I dont think it would take away from the specialness of being an adept though. An adept is someone who can use any mirror not just one that they created. Presumably thats one of the few basic unchanging rules ...

I think when it comes to Imagers belief in their ability to do something is what allows them to do it. The idea that only the imager who created a mirror can use that mirror or that the mirror will only show the one image and cannot be changed are ones that are repeatedly reinforced in the mind of t...
