It was his personality plus "moral fiber" that attracted people and turned him into a leader. He was the "coordinating principle" around which Voldemort's enemies rallied. It was his brains that gave him the information about wands, that enabled him to defeat Voldemort at the la...

I am thinking by the time we get to DH , that spoilers probably won't be necessary by then. By " important passages should be verbatum " are you saying the passage should be quoted before commenting on it? Does everyone else agree? ITA about comparing to previous chapters being allowed, b...

One thing on my mind is... ??? Spoilers??? For references to Deathly Hallows I would think so because not everyone has finished reading it (I've gone through it twice already), but as for the other six and references there of... no, I think spoilers inserted here and there would just muck it all up....

I don't remember where I read it, but, pretty sure it's in an early book (maybe the first or second book)? I just finished re-reading the first book (in prep for the DISSECTION!! :D ) and don't recall reading anything about electricity being a problem in the Wizarding world. Maybe it's in COS but I...

So far the voting is leaning towards doing it here. But there's only 7 votes and you'd probably want more.

I don't remember. If she did, is it possible it was said to generate good feelng for the movie when it was released? The impression I got was that it was related to their aging, and not wanting to be in "wizard" clothing when outside of class? (But I could be ret-conning that explanation ...

I'm not disagreeing that it was well done. I just really get creeped out by how young she is. I plan on going back this coming Wendsday and will be damned if the power goes out again. But it isn't likely. From what I saw the gal playing Luna was pretty good doing that spacy-"oh-like-wow" ...

Ya know, it really sucks when you wait a while for the furor to die down and decide to go watch the movie and happily find out that you are only 1 of 7 people in the theater (cuts down on the cheering and laughter and idiots yelling out spoilers and all that...) then half way through (the scene wher...

I think with the way technology is going with CGI and all of that they'll be able to pull off DH without breaking a sweat. Sure Radcliff will have to play his character several different times but we've seen him as talented and he'll probably welcome the challenge. It's the direction and production ...

Neville certianly was a diamond in the rough. From his first stand against Harry Ron and Hermione in the Sorcerer's Stone to the pivotal moments in DH, Rowling managed that character quite well. We see these mousy type people all the time (even in real life) but occasionally a few of them become bli...
