Unique and Quaint Words for Sex

Certainly Donaldson could have come up with some quaint words from yesteryear for the act of sex. He has really come across some doozies to describe and inner turmoil feelings that Linden and Thomas have felt over their lives in The Land.

I'd ask if it was fear of the critical response of TLD and being asked many, many difficult questions that prompted him to close the GI. Very true. People can be really hard on Stephen Donaldson. But then, hey, he does want $27.99 hardcover. I will always like The Last Dark. Thomas becomes a true s...

I think the fact that the average folk of The Land suffering, isnt explored at all, does make for a 'happier ending'. Can there be a happy ending if we are getting to know the villages and their villagers that The Worm is destroying through Jeremiah's vision? Maybe thats better, the earlier books of...

I still would have liked to read something like this... "Linden, hand me those water molecules. OK, that's gonna be the Soulsease", Covenant said as he re-fashioned the river with his ring. "Im getting tired Linden, and hungry for something else," Covenant said with a gleam in hi...

I really liked the common theme of the Last Chronicles in that Linden really cares for Jeremiah, and will do anything to save him. It really shows the beauty of a mother's love for her child. Converse with Thomas, he cares somewhat for Elena, but has given up on long-ignored Roger a long time ago. B...

The ending was fine. Actually, what could have made it better would have been for the Creator to show up, hit a 'pause' button, and then 're-set' The Land. I think that it takes a lot of believability that Thomas Covenant, Linden Avery, and Jeremiah, can put the whole 'thing' back together -- unless...

I like the focus that The Last Dark put on the Lurker. I know that this disenabled a focus on the 'average' folk of the The Land, but an OK trade-off.

I am thinking that this is one big issue I have with the resolution. We have been told that the Worm was going to destroy the world, if roused, from the time of the One Tree at least. It was roused, fed, went unopposed, but the world survived. That suggests that some one or thing was full of it..In...

I think the Lurker has made a new home where the Ecorse River ends and dumps itself into the Detroit River right next to 2 steel mills in SE Michigan.

I think that SHE exists as to something that Donaldson wants to speak to us in our own life. I mean, the guy is deep into his 9th book about The Land -- spanning all the way back to 1977 (the year of Star Wars!). That's a long time. So the question is, why introduce such major character like SHE, so...

You know, I am pretty much into that these are Donaldson's books, and he can do whatever in the hell he wants -- and I pretty much like it all. I mean, where can you go where a guy has saved the entire Land, and Universe not, once, but twice, and have the guy still have a mind-debate within himself ...

I doubt that moksha would be capable of much more than just random acts of malice and senseless destruction - and that in places out of sight, earshot and the range of other senses of the various powers for good. He's free to roam the Earth, he's free to look for banes and powers to enhance his abi...

Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac

This discussion has reminded me of the old Yiddish proveeb: "Be careful what you wish for. You might get it." I think that everyone who read and enjoyed the 1st and 2nd Chronicles would have hankered for a 3rd (or Last) Chronicles to be written at some stage. I know that I hoped for it. A...

The Last Dark is good -- very good. Lots of great things going on. Lots of real highs that TC and LA experience, even when everything they know about The Land is falling apart. Great book, and great ending to a Great 10-book series. ------------------------------- "Hey Kool-aid!" "Oh...

I hope that SD doesn't have any POV chapters, "'cause Jeremiah, we hardly know ya'". But, as I read the Last Chronicles for the 2nd time, and see its' evolution from TROTE to AATE, I am seeing the 'reach out' to teen readers, perhaps. Maybe, as a Dad of 3 teens, I am over-reaching, but SD ...

The Worm is going to devastate The Land on its way MS, making it basically unlivable, and a mess. Revelstone, Andelain devastated by skurj, gorgons, you name it. Meanwhile, transported to to the Thunderdome by an Insequent, Jerry & his Mom will capture the Worm in a box for a later purpose. The ...
