G.O.L.D.

The G.O.A.T. isn't really up for debate (darn plumbers, :? ), but maybe
a G.O.L.D. (Greatest Of Last Decade) award would be interesting. Say, extend it to include year 2k on.

*choose the grouping in the poll, then drop the specific game as a post*

Aahh...I've got it. The crown made it (Australia) up so that they could execute a criminal and the people wouldn't revolt, thinking said criminals were sent off to a prison continent. (Leave it to the British to go wayyy over the top there: a prison Continent.)

He's done. Last Airbender was ... it's hard to find words. My family loves the series (though the third season fell flat for me). It might be the worst film ever made. I loved Sixth Sense, liked Signs and Unbreakable, the Village was okay, actually thought Happenings was decent though I saw what dis...

What you expect has a ton to do with how much you will enjoy the film. I knew who made it and roughly what it was, or wasn't. Plus, I'd say that I do have a critic's mentality when watching films. I expected a near Oscar worthy product, but I believe what we got here is a decent film that intertwine...

I read the sex slave one. Then I read half of the second one, and while the idea of being in your rapists body and the whole alien setup was good, the story and plot (or lack of) were not enough to hold me. That was too drastic. Look, I really did like the idea of her being in his body and what migh...

I've heard the same with the Gap series...how he builds towards great endings. The thing is, that's just lazy, poor writing. Using the earlier books for certain ends without making them interesting and entertaining with characters that matter and solid PLOT (I.E. STORY). Story is to novels what loca...

Uber bump. Maybe I should keep it to myself... ...but Runes was the single worst novel I've ever read. I'd say it was on par with the Phantom Menace, or even worse, if compared to cinema. Bumpin' this'un wayyy up.

Easily the 1st Chrons. I think it's a step ahead of the 2nd Chrons, probably due to having the Quest structure and no Linden ;) . I read the first book of the Final Chrons and honestly have nearly no desire to read the last three.

What and Why are Spells?

Most stories and games have Mages or Wizards who cast spells. Magic may, then, derive from the voice. This matches Tolkien's take with Saruman's voice powers in the LOTR books. But what are spells really? It would seem to me that spells would have had to be created a long, long time before said stor...
