I believe Stave tells Jeremiah, upon completion of the fane, that he has rediscovered Rhadhamaerl. I do appreciate this aspect of the old lores coming back to the Land -- including Jeremiah learning the marrowmeld on the Quellvisk bones. Though the Last Chronicles never give us a satisfying resurgen...

I believe in the epilogue, they are somewhat surprised to see their Giant and Haruchai friends still alive, and Infelice says something to the effect of "all who were alive at the time of the world's end live yet." So I gather it's more like Cov/Lind/Jere did the rebuilding of the physical...

That Roger's demise was given only a couple of sentences brings to mind the issue of whether SRD succeeded at giving this character dignity. If SRD worried that he hadn't given Davies the dignity of his character that he deserved in the Gap books, would he argue that he did so with Roger? From the b...

DLB -- Thanks for finding that passage from TOT!
If that creation myth is taken at face value, it might even suggest TC and Linden rebuilt the world *on top* of the now-sleeping worm.

When I first read some teasers about the beginning of the Last Chronicles, there was a reference to Linden's son -- my natural expectation was that it was Linden's and Covenant's son, conceived in the Land during the end of WGW (they were intimate after purging the Sunbane, IIRC). This actually seem...

That's a good point, Savor. It was one of things that initially threw me when reading TOT -- there's this urgent, awful conflict in the Land, and Covenant & Co decide to take off on a boat for the middle of the 2nd Chrons. The difference in the 2nd Chrons, I would say, is the payoff -- both in t...

I would say TLD works best when seen as a direct sequel to AATE, but underwhelms as the climax of entire Chronicles. Did anyone else have a major problem with the structure of TLD, especially as it compares to AATE? I actually found the pacing of the first half of TLD to be among the best of the Las...
