I thought the LC was fantastic, all the way up until the Worm was suddenly somehow led to sleep by its favorite, previously helpless victims (no idea what changed to allow this to happen). Other than the shocking lack of continuity at the end, the LC totally justified itself and lived up to the stan...

@ Lurch - I am baffled by your post - don't get it at all. Sure, it began and ends in metaphor; but that doesn't mean the story gets to suffer extreme plot holes. Ever since the Worm was roused, I wondered "how in the world are they going to solve this problem?" Problems have to have solut...

I'm glad

...that someone agrees! I've been waiting, wondering how in the world the problem of the Worm would be resolved, since it was roused at the end of FR. Turns out the Elohim are able to master the Worm? WTF? Then why did they need to hide from the Worm in the first place? To me this disintegrates the ...

HBO might be able to do this, but they would seem cheap. I'm afraid that one of the hardest things to do well would somehow be to indicate the presence of earthpower in the Land. There is no way directly to depict the extra senses of health and ill that this gives, but somehow it has to be indicate...

I haven't read through the replies to this yet, so forgive me if I'm repeating something someone else has already said. Religion historically being a central feature of society does not mean religion is inexorable from society. Societies (groups) can unite over lots of ideas - the advancement of sci...

The hardest I've laughed in the TC series *spoilers*

So... I'm almost at the end of AATE right now. First read-through of the Final Chronicles. And I busted out laughing at one part and I want to see if anybody else has found this part as ridiculously absurd as I did. So Thomas Covenant has just killed Joan. Good times. And the Harrow's horse is gone....

I started one back when I was twelve and I've been re-spinning it and re-constituting it until I'm kind of comfortable with where I am right now. It's been a very weird journey with a lot of allegories for my own realizations/journeys. I was brought up in a fundamentalist Christian environment, lear...

Salutations and felicitations, as SRD might say

Hi all! Just wanted to pop in and take a look around. I read the first two series multiple times and wanted to wait until TLD was out before I started the last series. I waited too long. Right now I am closing in on the end of FR and AGATE is waiting on the table. =D Just wanted to say this is defin...
