I'm not sure, to be honest.

We talked a little bit during and before and after recording regarding his Facebook comments about the third Kharkanas. I believe it's shelved until at least after the next Willful Child and the first of Karsa Orlong's forthcoming trilogy.

We'll see. There's been pretty healthy response to the idea - if it's worth it, I'll work to transcribe it.

I do think Fantasy/genre authors podcasting themselves is an untapped medium.

Possible Erikson Podcast

Might be developing an Erikson podcast given his desire to reach out directly to his fans, wherever they might be. We're starting with one and seeing how it might move forward organically, given that even just crowdsourcing ideas on his official author page gives the impression he'd have topics to s...

I do hope you'll still sign up at SA - as we very much don't enforce that sexuality, vulgarity, whatever rule ;). And when they post, if infrequently, Brinn and Hiro have always provided some more sober balance to whatever conversation in which they partake!

I notice that Madness is no longer participating in our discussion here. That's a shame. I saw on the Second Apocalypse forums where he said he had little patience for "fair weather fans." I really hope that was a joke and he's not the kind of person who blames fans for their negative opi...

I was going to join the Second Apocalypse forum, but the registration process requires that I agree not to post anything "obscene, profane, sexually oriented." Are you prudes fucking kidding me?? A forum dedicated to a book that has fights with dragons where the primary subject of dialog ...

Must say, over the last two books (maybe even the last 3) I've felt that he's maybe unnecessarily over-complicating his prose for effect. Some very convoluted ways of saying things at times. When he turned in the two separate drafts of TGO/TUC circa new year 2015 the long-time editor at Overlook fa...

You read too fast, Av. How can you appreciate such complicated prose at that speed?? No shit. I feel like Bakker has graduated from genre to full on (L)iterature with the last two volumes and - surprise, surprise - it doesn't reward shallow reading. Not that Avatar or anyone here is like that...

Bakker definitely has a distinct rhythm, from the structure of individual sentences, to the peppering of dialog with authorial insights, to scene structure, and finally the mixtures of scenes themselves where he alternates between drama and narration. +1 I really think that Bakker solidified his wr...

It's interesting, I have had this discussion with Madness, how certain writing patterns stand out for readers. I hadn't noticed these two that you express here, for me it's for instance the 'scowling' and 'raucous', over-applied that stands out. Onwards to Golgotterath... We used to have a thread f...

Second Apocalypse members have confirmed purchasing TUC at Waterstones in the UK, shipping from Waterstones to US (at a prohibitive price probably), and having Barnes & Noble in US put books on hold for the second date (not revised!) US date of July 11th!

It's out there :)!
