Gap Humor.

Q: How to we know that Macbeth was a fan of the Gap series?

A:
“Is this ADAHGA which I see before me,
The Kindle toward my hand?
Come, let me clutch thee.”

I regret nothing.

My first take on this is this: unless something changes, this book won't be published. Yes, this doesn't look good at all. If SRD does break the Berkeley contract, it's going to be a tough job shopping the third book of a series around to other publishers. The one hope I have is that Orion/Gollancz...

I apologize to everyone for dropping the Gap quiz ball last October. Real life got ... complicated ... and my online activities dropped to pretty much zero.

I'll try not to let it happen again.

I have the impression that there's a mountain range to the south of Belleger that runs north-west to south-east. Some of the passes in this range run almost north/south, while others run east/west.

I'd need to read TWW again to confirm this impression, though.

I can't remember, so I'll take a guess: was it because Warden trusted Davies as a free agent, not having a zone implant? He couldn't know whether Morn was under Nick's control?

I understood the "ordinary woman" clue, but missed the "no power" detail. Nicely done.

But since that requires effort in itself, I don't feel guilty about doing that. Haha, yeah, I usually only answer the ones I know...it's very rare that I can be bothered to hunt for an answer. Asking questions however is much more difficult, so there I will usually either check out dissections, or ...

That's really strange. I don't know what's going on. One weird thing that happened on the US site was that new versions of The First Chronicles were released a few months after the original releases. The new releases were largely identical in content, but were marked as "Audible Originals"...

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but my recollection is that it was because they owned the UMCP, which was responsible for enforcing law in human space, and which became responsible for the safety of humanity because piracy became a threat to that safety (as it was a betrayal of humanity to ...

Well done, Skyweir! (By the way, was the detail that I got wrong the mention of using two curved glasses? On reflection (pun intended) I think you would have to translate a flat glass through a curved glass in order to travel within the same world without going mad. A curved glass made in Mordant wi...

Trying to determine how to translate a glass through another glass without breaking both? That is what is needed to translate within the same world without a flat glass (ie. two curves glasses via another world).

Well, that would be rather convoluted, given that most Imagers can't really control what location mirrors show.

(Aside: I love the rules that Donaldson created for Imagery, by the way.)

I would need to check, but I believe I also have that edition (given I was living in Australia when Gilden-Fire came out).

Edited to add: Yep. My copy is not as nice as Skyweir's though.

Does it have something to do with trying to create mirrors that show locations within the castle and then placing them in those locations such that invaders would see themselves in them?
